I picked up this DVD earlier today and just finished watching it a little while ago. Another worthy addition to this excellent series of DVD's. Gives a nice look behind the scenes of the recording of The Doors debut album with the surviving members of the band, engineer, and friends and fans including Henry Rollins and Perry Ferrel. Good stuff. The best stuff is with the engineer stripping tracks down to the bare essentials and drummer John Densmore. Densmore really gets into the spirit of it and gets into some of his drumming techniques and influences. Worth picking up if you like this series at all and/or are a fan. One of the neat things I learned was The End was recorded live in the studio and has no overdubs at all. It's just the band playing the song!

Yeah I caught it on VH-1 Classic and it is probably the best one of the series.

I've seen the Metallica's Black Album one, Who's Next and Queen's A Night At the Opera editions of the series. The series is incredible.

Those are great, VH1 Classic shows a few of them every now and then. I saw on there (and later purchased) the Nevermind edition. As a CD I enjoyed so much anyway, that video gave me a new found respect for the CD and the band as a whole. It's very interesting, especially to hear Butch play around with the master tracks in the studio. It's sorta funny to hear only Grohl's backing vocals on In Bloom, they sound bad by themselves.
