Just so theres no misunderstanding, im not saying elton john is crap. rocketman is a good song, crocodile rock is ok, saturday night is ok. but elton is a pianist, so since theres no keyboard hardware, his music is mostly out with few exceptions. combine the keyboard heavy slant with his crappy, undynamic vocals, and you have a recipe for a bad rock band experience. as a singer myself, i do not find him challenging to cover at all. i am not against him because he is *** (married to a man), he can love whoever he wants. (though nobody was surprised when he came out).

what i do have a problem with elton on is now hes becoming an activist. why do people feel they need to do this when they should be performing instead? when youre watching a movie do you wonder what that actors feelings on the iraq war are? if you knew would you care? or would you rather they just did their job and keep it to themselves like you and i do? wow. sorry. anyway, elton said recently that the internet should be shut off for like 5 years so we can all take a step back and "re-center" ourselves as a people. whatever, dude. so typical, people like him always think they know whats best for everyone.
