I tried searching to see if there is any topics like this...so here it goes:

How many drum sticks have you broken?

Now if you are using a stock drum set then chances are you haven't. But for those of you using custom drum sets (like me....using a real set), how many drum sticks have you gone through so far? I just had my second one break a few minutes ago. The first one was a stock rock band drum stick, and the recent one was a Vic Firth 5B stick.

None, on RB or on my real set.

I broke one on my RB set. I theorize it broke because due to sheer awesomeness.

I lack the awesomeness to break my sticks.
Though the tip of one seems to be... 'Degrading'.

So I show signs of awesomeness, I guess. =)

dumsticks I broke = 0
drumsticks my dog broke = 2

i dunno if that was the spirit of this post since I never broke any playing but well, the score is what the score is :D

My sticks definitely showed uneven signs of wear. One stick had the tip chewed all to hell (the sides were practically square), while the other one wasn't chipped at all. That one is in two pieces, split 1/8" past both logos.

I just wish it happened on a much heavier song than Message in a Bottle. Great drum song, but not exactly one that warrants instrument breaking.

I haven't broken any but one of my sticks is seriously warped. I'm not sure if it came like this or if it happened over time. Gonna pick up a set of those Zildjian anti-vibe sticks soon.

Here's a pic of the first broken drum stick (the stock stick)

sorry for the large image, I forgot to resize it before I uploaded it :P

For those of you who are wondering why the tape is on there, it is on the tip to save the temporary mesh head I made (bare tips were creating holes in it faster than with tape on it), and on the handle because the stick was rubbing against my hand too much and started hurting (don't have this problem with my Vic Firth sticks though)

When my Vic Firth stick broke...I was playing Epic and then all of a sudden a piece flew off and I was like, WTF!! Damn stick :P ...It broke the same way as the stock stick btw

good thing payday is coming up so I can buy real mesh heads and some new sticks ;)

One. I failed out at some song and just exploded, smashing it about eight times against the drums until it finally broke. I've now banned myself from playing tier 9 songs until I can learn to control my anger...

It's quite easy on real drums, since you're hitting the edge of hard metal cymbals that will chew up your sticks.

But on RB drums? I don't see how people are breaking sticks unless the ones they have are really shoddy.

I lol'd at one of my online friends. He broke his FINGER. He hit it while trying to 5 star Run to the Hills Expert.

Well, they kinda are...

I just swapped out the sticks that come with the game with a pair of Ahead Lars Ulrich signature sticks, which I have enjoyed using quite a bit. Somewhat worried that they might wear down the drums faster, but so far, so good (had them for a couple months now).

i have not broken any sticks, i did see degrading in the wood tips though so i switched to nylon tip 7A. i am on my second set of drums though. has anyone else has a problem with the Heads (i guess) breaking? i really don't play that hard. my red and yellow are f'ed though.
