EB Games pre order information

Hi there all, first time poster, long time lurker. Sorry if this has already been covered !

So i wanted to pre order rock band as early as i could so i can make sure i get this kickass game. I went down to EB Games and they asked which package i wanted to pre order, the "special edition" or the "regular". Now my guess is that regular = just the game and "special edition" = the bundle. Of course i want to pre order the bundle. However the employee could not verify what the two bundles were, and they also had no pricing information for it.

So my question is, does anyone have the game pre ordered at EB Games? And if so which bundle, and did they come up against the same challenge that I did ? I guess i could just pre order the "special edition" in the hopes that it is the $169USD bundle which i want, but i dont really want to go ahead and order the wrong one.

by the way this is eb games in Canada if it makes a difference.

i went in a couple weeks ago and traded in 23 ps2 games for some money and i asked the guy about rock band and he said i could pre-order the bundle for 200 and it comes out on the 20th

i was like "but none of that is confirmed is it?"
and he was like "yeah thats right, weve had tons of preorders on it and its gonna be 200 dollars"

well i knew he was wrong so i didnt preorder it but he must feel like an ass now

I guess I'll answer the actual question that's being asked. The special edition is the full bundle.

Special Edition is the bundle.

The people at my local EB said that the last speculation they had was the $199 CAD price, but that was well before the official price announcement, so they couldn't commit to anything either way. :p

so what is the regular edition? Shouldnt there just be the bundle, the game, and then the periphrials?

im in Canada and i went to preorder my game about a month ago and they diddnt let me preorder the game because they said no release date was confirmed so i ordered guitar hero 3 instead now that we have a nov 23rd confirmed im going down to EB in like a week

Hey guys, I checked in yesterday and the current info on Rock Band pre orders is that the date has changed from 11/23 to 11/20 for the release date and now you are only able to pre order the bundle (a.k.a. special edition) because all the peripherals are not due out till February of next year.

Now, of course all of this can change because it's not official Harmonix news but since we are very close to the games release I do see some credibility.....

I don't think that is entirely true. From my understanding there will be multiple packagaes you can order (Game+Guitar, Game+Drums, game+Mic, and The Bundle).

Individual/stand alone instruments will not be available until January next year...

...and I am pretty sure that Black Friday will remain the release date (though it will be great if they release it that Tuesday (the 20th)).

Of course, I don't know 100 percent either way, so please correct me if I am wrong... it is just that the only thing to go by is what the "Official" news is... and that is, as far as he *release* date goes, is that it stands as the 23rd.

The release date is the 23rd, EB had it right when they changed from the 20th. Maybe they had a brain fart down at headquarters and ment to change the ship date to the 20th, which I think is the most logical reason.

I can't believe people are still speculating.

It's Nov. 23rd, you can preorder the bundle, the game, what have you. They're not gonna release the game, but not instruments. That would make ZERO sense.

Go to EB Games, Gamestop, Gamecrazy, Best Buy, Amazon, whatever, and pre-order whatever you want.

If they tell you otherwise, then they're misinformed.
