I hate it when you are beatign someone and then they just quit. How am i ment to do some of the acheivements when i cant beat anyone with out them quiting. Now and again I do get the ocasional good gamer who doesnt quit but that is rare.

I think we should publicly post all the quiters and everyone leave them bad feedback for quiting early.

I know how you feel, every time I've been beating someone they've quit, even on non-ranked.

What's a quiter? answer me that.

Unless you really don't realize that both quitting and quitter have the letter T twice. This is merely speculation.

Having just bought this great game (I live in the UK) I went online for the first time today to play a few ranked matches

I was really annoyed that ,even very early in a song, if I got a lead the other person dropped. I have been playing GH3 for ages now and this happens sometimes but when it does you are given the win - is this the same in Rock Band?

If so, then fair enough - it is up to the losers to hunt for worse players than themselves, but if not then this is a massive oversight on the part of Harmonix

This, like common sense, isn't as common anymore as you would think or like.

That being said, quitting can be pretty annoying. I've especially never understood people who quit in band quickplay because they're messing up... they're basically instantly dooming the rest of the band, and for what?

Apparently they feel like it would be less embarrassing quitting out early and dooming the band when it's completely obvious that they're disatisfied with their performance than it would be to play out the song and have to put up with the shame of a low percentage...

I know, it doesn't make sense to me either.

I ALWAYS leave negative feedback ... and sometimes, if I'm really feeling pissy, I'll send a little text message to them as well. :)

On another note - is there online bandplay now??

Honestly, i never was a quitter. Then i read on this forum how much people hate it. So now, when i play, if im losing i quit with like 3 notes left to play. WAH-HAH-HAH-HAH

Seriously though, i do, and i laugh, and my girlfriend hits me and tells me im an ass, and then i say "well, at least mine isnt fat" then we fight and she throws my drum kit and makes it dent our wall. Good times.

Congratulations buddy, you win... 673 posts and counting and still not one I've found worthwhile reading. That deserves some kind of prize.

hahahaha......haha

To the O.P. about putting the quitters on a list. It wouldn't change anything, they will continue to do it. It's unfortunate but..... nothings perfect. Thats life.

I played Solo duels for the first time yesterday.

Out of 10 matches, I had 7 quitters. Really annoying.

I play to the end, win or lose. I wish they'd implement something that gives you the win when someone quits. There needs to be some consequence for dropping out when playing ranked.

If you quit too many times, Harmonix should patch in that a big red letter "Q" gets permanently affixed to your toon's shoulder, without possibility of being covered up. :)

HMX really did the worst job in the world for matchmaking. Forgetting Ranked games and achievements for a minute (and voice chat... and...recent players and...) (I'm a PS3 guy), there's loads of very simple things they could have done about this.

I've never quit, i'm happy to get hammered on Expert drums if thats what the host has chosen, I'll play until they get tired of beating me. On Exp guitar I have some ok battles, but most people quit when they're loosing.

They should have made the difficulty level selectable BEFORE joining the game, then mabey some 10yrd dude playing Easy and happy, doesnt have to meet some Expert player and have no say in it. Not having voice also makes this even more of an issue as there's no way to even inform your opponent of your ability.

Keep a track of a persons quit % so you have an idea before you play them. Then you can leave instantly if you meet person that has a dire completion rate.

An expansion on this quit % is that when hosting you can actually specify this! E.g. No joiners with a quit % of 20 or more.

There's quitters in ever game, but this one makes it even more likely you'll meet a quitter and not a person that just wants to play a few songs.

I've no idea why they were so lazy (and double so with the PS3) when implementing matchmaking. Its one of the main reasons I'll probaby jump to GH4.

I'm not going to "jump ship" to GH4, but if the matchmaking is better on GH4, I'll at least buy it and split time.

But I'm hoping for some sort of "KICK GH4 in the A*S" type of patch for Rock Band before GH4 releases... one that will fix all these annoyances.

Don't hold your breath on that one. I don't think Harmonix has listened to a damn thing we have asked for. I quit posting here for a while because its always the same thing. Us, the consumers, asking for what we would like in the game and going unheard.
Don't get me wrong, I love RB and still play, but not near as much as I used to. It used to be an everyday thing but now its become, once or twice a week. I agree, I probably won't "jump ship" either but I'm sure as hell going to get GH4 and if its as good as they're boasting, it will probably get a lot more of my attention and money on DLC. They don't seem to listen to what any of us want on DLC either.
Before any of you diehard RB guys start ranting and raiving. I do understand the work it takes to make the patches and mods for the game, but come on. All they have managed to do since it came out is start out GOOD on the DLC and go to total s**t. We have had ONE real patch (or whatever you wanna call it) but it was the store. Big deal, did it enhance my gameplay? That's a big fat NO.
So, come on Harmonix. Start listening to us and giving us what we want. At least a little of it. Especially the online enhancements.

I think that they should put a patch on that blocks users from playing online if they quit too much or at least give the person the win if the other person quits because if you quit you still get a loss so why does the other person not get a win, it would only be fair.

I never post on here but I will now because this pisses me off. I want to get achievements sure but I also just want to play. And there's no penalty for them quitting! I always give them a bad review but that doesn't really do anything. They should lose points for quitting because it just ruins the online experience, I just had two people in a row quit on me on Detroit Rock City. For some reason it did the same song twice, first guy quit about 30 seconds in when I had a very slight lead and the other about a minute and a half in. It's frustrating because then I have to go and wait for it to find another match. At least give me credit for winning or something because these people can't just accept the fact that they won't win every game (I sure don't and I don't quit early).

It just happened to me too! I usually never play ranked because of too many cheesers and quitters, but Ranked was the only way I could find a match. I actually got beat 10 times in a row before I played this one guy. I was beating him pretty handily, then all of a sudden this LOSER quits right in the middle of the solo. I gave him neg feedback, but it doesn't do anything. There really need to be a penalty for quitting.

In case you play Myth66, be warned that he will quit if he's losing.

Rock Band is a great game, but it is only great in terms of local multiplayer.
The solo modes are fun, but get boring after a while, and the online modes are not executed well. Both the online quickplay and the score duel/ tug of war have major problems that affect the quality of the game. I hope they come out with a fix or announcement soon.
