can't hear vocalist on live

I don't know if this is part of the game or not, but when i play in band mode online, whoever is on the mic i can't hear them only the original track.
is this how its supposed to be?

Yes. Otherwise you'd be hearing them 1-2 seconds late because of latency over the internet. If you want an example, ask your singer to hold down the R trigger while they sing a song and you'll see how bad it is.
