before i begin my opinion i'm going to assume just for sanity's sake, that the strat and les paul will be compatible with rock band, gh3 ,and gh2. of course when we find out all the compatibility junk this will change. however i digress

i got to play both rock band and gh3 over the weekend at the world cyber games. I got to play both the strat and the les paul and i would highly recommend the les paul of the strat. Don't get me wrong, the strat rocks, the buttons at the buttom are cool and work well, it has the switch and i could go on. However the les paul felt perfect. For some reason the guitar seems amazing. If you have any questions about my tiny opinion please let me know and i'll answer them.

My hype meter is up to 120% Now Guitar effects seem nice but if you just use them all the time they ruin the song.

It's just the wah-wah effect that gets really annoying. When I played on the tour, most people left the effect selector on the bottom-most effect, which is the wah-wah. The chorus and echo on the other hand, sound lovely.

Wasn't a bad demo, always nice to see peole having fun playing the game, but I do agree...we really should be seeing some new, different songs and it would've been very cool to have someone from HMX there to actually talk about the game a bit. Oh well.

I wonder if Suffregate City and Main Offender are just really, really fun to play, and that's why we see it all the time? Maybe?

It seems like HMX favors certain songs to show off the game in the media (Main Offender and Suffragette City); they're like the flagship songs or something.

And on the other hand, they're also putting the clamps on the media showing certain other songs (Won't Get Fooled Again, Gimme Shelter, etc).

I don't think it's coincidence and I'm guessing Gamespot and other sites don't have control over what songs they can show.

They (Harmonix) obviously only have the rights to use certain songs to promote the game in interviews/online videos.

It isn't so much that so much as the way licensing works. We don't have the rights for various reasons to show off a lot of our songs over the internet or through video. That's, like, extra licensing. People who were at PAX may remember my frequent requests to not record performances on our stage. Same deal.

I was there last night, if you watched the whole thing I was on Button Mashing too. :D
RB and GHIII look awesome in real life. Videos over the web do not do these games justice. Especially Rock Band. Sooooo much fun, I had such a blast last night. I look forward to RB coming to the SF Bay Area. :D
