It lacks backwards compatibility for PS2 games, only has 2 USB slots, and a few other cutbacks, but you can still buy the 80 GB model that comes with everything, but people keep *****ing about the product that it was too expensive (60 GB model) and now it is cheaper, but that comes at a bit of a price.
People are just going to rip this to shreds too. Nothing is going to be good enough for people. It's never going to satisfy everyone. This setup is designed for people who want to start building up their PS3 library because the lineup is slowly starting to build up a little steam. It's still the cheapest blu-ray player on the market, still plays PS1 classics. If people are going to just come here an complain about it, thats sort of sad. Sony is trying to give their consumers choice much like Microsoft is and has been doing with the 360.
Bottom line is if people are clamoring for a cheaper product right away and can't wait for it to come down gradually like all technology does, Sony had to do something and they did. If consumers need it right away and won't stop complaining about the price there are going to be a few cutbacks.

yea with no BC with the ps2 and only 2 USB ports.
This is the price point they should have started with when the system first launched. I wouldve bought this in a second last year, and i'd still be a proud sony fanboy.

I'll probably get a PS3 next year, After I get bored of Rock Band I plan on getting one. Which should be a good while so I'd say till the middle of next year or so. Won't be this model though, I'll get the 80 gig.
