NICE! a little different to mix things up.

good song too, this is good news indeed.

Here's a youtube video of the whole song... awesome intro IMHO and the potential for some wicked solo action. That in-game vid does not do the song justice.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNNlRM765q8

Edit:

Having listened to the song a few times now... this is really a vintage Harmonix move. With GH1 and 2, they were the veritable masters of finding obscure/unknown song tracks that make for great gaming. This is definately in the same pattern, I only wish the vid had shown some of the solo sections.

OMG someone kill that schmuck at IGN who thinks he should be the vocalist.

That looks like a pretty nasty song on guitar! I'm not a Coheed fan, but I'm looking forward to playing this song. :)

Sweet it was about time for a new song announcement! I think the beginning to welcome home is definitely one of those that gets stuck in your head. I think it should be fun to play, I'm looking forward to it.

When the heck are they going to announce more 60s songs though, one on the disc is just not going to cut it!

10-10-2007, 05:44 AM
Dude. The guy was butchering the song so badly, I couldn't even tell what it was. I just YouTube'd the song and I was like, "HOLY ****! I KNOW THIS SONG AND I LOVE IT!"

I couldn't tell what it was from that 30 second clip and I assumed I wouldn't know what it was from the line "no way mainstream." But yeah.... I just realized I know this song and I've been hoping it'd make it into GH3 or Rock Band. :)

I believe that makes 34 of 45, so 11 songs are still unannounced.

Interestingly this was one song of theirs I'd heard that I found tolerable. :p

One of my favorite tracks off of that CD--this is exciting news. I got to see them live once and had never seen what any of the members looked like, and expected to see some tiny bouncy guy on stage singing, but instead got this big Slash-haired latin dude. Definitely wasn't expected. :P Claudio's voice is awesome though, really unique.

Good acoustic version of that song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CkCYGghg1uY

Just gave it a listen. This is honestly the first song they've announced that I've never before heard in my life. I like it though...definately should give some needed guitar difficulty...gonna be hard to sing and drum too I think. Was I hearing some double-bass in there too? Might solve the question of whether they can do double bass drum songs or not.

Probably won't wind up as one of my all-time favorites to play, but a good choice. Helps fill a lot of stuff we were lacking (harder songs & guitar work mostly).

wow, just heard the song for the first time. Gotta say I'm pretty impressed. When I saw this on IGN I was like, "meh, isn't that some emo band?" But after hearing the whole song it sounds pretty damn cool. Dude on the vocals though is freaking HORRENDOUS! (ign's vocalist)

COHEED AND CAMBRIA! I love you Harmonix. The verse riffs remind me a lot of Kashmir, the way they build up. It should be fun to play. Oh and someone fire this vocalist. He's butchered every song he does. How dare he.

Yes! They listened to me! Mauhahahahaha. Totally supported coheed thread back in the day with all the haters. Can't ****ing wait.

Heh, not a bad song. I have to give Harmonix props for picking some fine newer tunes.

Like Sushi said, the guitar should be fairly tough.

I love this song list, Only 43 more days!! xD

10-10-2007, 07:52 AM
First off I would liek to say out of all songs that I wanted to be in this game, this was at the top of my list.

Should be great to play. The solo and the beginning are gonna be tough. Vocals are gonna be hard also.:D

Dude I wanna get on my PC so I can see it.

Difficult guitar? Must see!

I think the remainder of the songs will be good to guitarist. I think they were pushing all the other instruments to seperate itself from GH. Now with GH around the corner they can ride the guitar hype train.

awesome song. kudos to you HMX.

i hope 8 of the 11 songs are the "hard" ones (TOOL) and the rest "party" songs (Paramore) to round off things.

Just saw the vid (Why don't people ever just embed by the way?) and I have to say it looks like fun.

The guitar still looks kind so-so. I MEAN NOT TRYING TO *****! I am looking forward to guitar most of all in RB but the hype on this thread was it'd end all the *****ing. It did at least look active. I don't it'll end the *****ing but it did look really active and fun. And the solo (is there one?) isn't shown either so who knows?

I kinda like the guitar work in Suffragette City the most so far.

Oh, there is a solo :) One of my favorites. This song should be pretty sweet to play with all instruments. I was really hoping this song would somehow find it's way into Rock Band although I didn't think it had much of a chance. Looks like I was wrong

Added my 2 cents to try and get Tool in Rock Band!

Also, what about:
The Doors - Any song
Audioslave - Any song
Alice in Chains - Man in the Box (Please!)
Pearl Jam - Alive or Jeremy
rage against the machine - (Tom Morello being in GH3 can't immediately mean restricted from other games, can it? :x)
Korn - Blind or Predictable
A Perfect Circle - Judith
Bachman Turner Overdrive - You ain't seen nothin' yet
Steppenwolf - Magic Carpet Ride

What happen to good ole fashin rock n roll? Rock Band had a helluva list going before the last 3-4 bands were announced. I hope they are literally just throwing in a little something for everyone and by the time the full setlist is out, they will have regained the strength they had in the early announcements. Regardless, I'll still buy it and just hope they make it up with DLC.

I agree, Alive by Pearl Jam would be awesome in Rock Band and Ten as DLC would be amazing and awesome for all 4 players. You Aint seen nothin yet would be fun and there are some challenging parts to that song for guitar so it would be a good one.

This is the best announcement so far. I haven't been so excited about RB lately, especially seeing the GH3 song list, but this makes up for things quite a bit. If only the full album is released as DLC soon after release of the game then I'd be the happiest person alive. The drumming is great on this album. I saw them live last year and have tickets this November to see them again. Now I'm waiting for the Dream Theater and pedal expansion announcements. Come on HMX!

no double bass, Josh Eppard the old drummer didn't use a double kick, because he said he got more "groove" out of a single kick.

Yea this song is really growing on me. I like it a lot now. And the guitar note chart looks especially fun. And those solos in the last min or so, those sounds really fun too. And the lyrics are tough nuggets, I imagine thisll be one of the later songs in the game. I think I'm gonna listen to it again right now :D
