My Gold account didn't automatically downgrade like it was supposed to. Instead it won't let me log in or access the Marketplace or anything. It just says I need to update it.

There is a credit card on their for automatic renewal but it's been canceled.

Any help?

When I lost my Gold, when I tried to log in the first time, it said something like, your gold is expired, please add more points, something along those lines. I pressed okay, it logged me out, and then I logged back in, and it was back to Silver. Did you try to log into a few times?

Maybe you can take the credit card out and put some kind of pre-paid xbl card for now?

Thing is I don't have the money for a pre-paid card. I'd much rather just take the Silver for now. That way I can at least still have my demos to look forward to.

I think your best bet would to just be call up Microsoft and get step-by-step instructions on what to do.

Ugh. I suppose.

The credit card I was using was actually supplied to me via workplace. So once the job was dead so was the card.

No offense to anyone here, but I can never understand the people who do Tech Support. I always get the automated thing, I have to wait, and then once I finally get to talk to someone, I can't understand them because they have a heavy middleeastern accent.

Or, my personal favorite, two departments keep playing "Monkey in the Middle" with the answer.

That's because you have to wait for them to connect you with India... hence the accent and long waits

What can you do? The guys in Mumbai are WAY cheaper than US workers.

And as far as this issue goes, same thing happened to a friend of mine. The account was tied to the card, and because it didn't auto-update because the card was cancelled, they said the account became "locked" and he had to create a new gamertag and start over. It sucked because he lost all of his achievements/gamesaves, of course.

Good luck. I hope the same does not happen to you.

I'd bash your PSN/PS3 but I can find flaws with 360 and Sony equally. In the long run JUST MAKE AWESOME SOFTWARE!

I love the PS3/PSN but no more or less than my 360/Live or Wii/Wii Opera (Wii online gaming blows). :)

Yes the only things you can do with silver is talk to people from the dashboard or get things from the Marketplace.
