After seeing this weeks announcment for 06/03/08 being the Disturbed 3 pack, and the Jimmy Buffet 3 pack I couldn't help but notice how helpful this is. (and how it would help cut down on complaints)

The youngins got there "Disturbed" and the old folks got there "Jimmy Buffet". Maybe you don't like either of those bands but if they do start doing the DLC in this fashion there is a far greater likleyhood that they will release a band/genre that you dig.

I just hope this is the way DLC will work from here on out. (HMX did say they were going to start putting out more DLC per week)

It makes alot more people happy and gives some much needed diversity to the weekly DLC.

Do you folks think HMX should or will continue with the 2 pack, 2 genre, 2 decade way of releasing DLC??

I agree. A hugely positive sign of a full-scale increase in DLC especially after two weeks of 9 songs per.

I agree, I'm a person that pretty much just loves music in general and have bought almost everything. But, this week has really got me stoked. Love me some Jimmy, and that new song by Disturbed, Inside the Fire (I believe that's the name of it) should be pretty tough on all 4 instruments.

But, back to what your saying, 2 bands, 2 packs (one for 3 dollars :D), 2 decades and 2 genres. That is brilliant from HMX.

This is gonna be a great week. And is 36 really old when it concerns Jimmy Buffett? I kinda feel a lot younger after this announcement. :D

I was really hoping fo ra Styx pack at some point, Renegade is the perfect song for Rock Band, Hell even a cover would be great, but I am happy with this week's DLC, despite being a fan of neither. It's great to see these packs side by side because it does fill two sections of the RB catalog that different groups would like. I hope they keep doing things like this in the future.

I love Disturbed (and the 3 dollar price) so I'm definitely getting that one. I'll probably get Margaritaville, since its the closest things to country that we've gotten so far, since all the local stations play that song. At one point, it got pretty old ... i mean, 6 times a day is enough, and I'm talking 3 years ago too. Not the kinda music associated with central VA

I'm only 26, and really excited about next weeks DLC (especially Jimmy Buffett).

Funny how some people associate music with certain age groups.

Disturbed for $0.99 is really great, I will pick it up just because of that. Buffet I will probably get just because it's a nice change of pace from all the hard rock and metal.

Although this is great, I'm not counting on HMX to be able to keep up the pace. Perhaps once a month we'll get a big week, but I still look at this as an exception, not the norm.

This is awesome; it was a great idea.

I'm gonna' be broke, though. There are still [i]Euro[i] songs I want that I haven't got yet.

<-Can finally stop sending in requests for Jimmy Buffet songs. lol!

I'm a bit of a parrothead, and really excited to see them in there. For anyone looking for a party song, if it goes well, the buffett pack should be a good group of party songs.

I'm also happy that I get a pack of DLC that my band WON'T gripe about. THey haven't been as crazy about the last couple of weeks as I have been.

BTW--The Disturbed songs are gonna be kickin' on guitar and bass.

Yea, hopefully they will do the 2 packs from different genres every week or atleast bi-weekly.

2 diiferent packs, 2 diff genres targeting two different audiences, I cannot agree more, it's a win-win situation!!!

In my case, I'm not "young" by the standards here (28 years old) but I'm an huge fan of Disturbed, so this 3-pack is a sure buy from me. And for Buffet....erhm, well, I'm not american, so maybe that's why I don't enjoy the 3 songs listed here, But I'm really glad for the Buffet fans here, and for harmonix for giving me me a shopping trip to the PS Store again the next thursday.

Unfortunately I think your right. I don't know if HMX would be able to put out that much volume of DLC on a regular basis...thats really pushin it. (or maybe not, what do we really know)

Definitely having a better range of choices each week is a good idea. Not sure I'd like to restrict it to two bands per week, but offering more choices that appeal to different age groups/musical tastes each week would please more people at a time. But nothing will ever please every person every week.

Either way it seems we're at the beginning of the ramped up DLC offerings - although this week is likely just a rare case. Within the last 7 weeks (from 4/22 - 6/3), they have released 42 songs. That's an average of 6 songs a week. But if there's one thing I've learned this year when it comes to Rock Band and Harmonix, as soon as you think you know what they're doing, they prove you completely wrong. So I'm not getting my hopes up. But I have loved the past 2 months of DLC. My wallet isn't as pleased though.

With all that said, it would be great if this increased DLC trend continues. And with cautious optimism and complete speculation, I would not be surpised to see a couple of EPIC DLC weeks in July when E3 hits. Gamers usually pay attention during E3 - what better time to drop a nice AAA band or two.

I think if it were not for the Disturbed promotion with Best Buy, we'd only be getting Buffet.
