Hey all. Real quick, just a couple of questions. I'm planning on getting a couple of extra accessories along with the Rock Band game, including a drum throne and a mic stand (as the thread title explains). So, I just wanted to know....if there are any drummers on the boards, what thrones do you think would be the best but are still on the inexpensive side? Same with singers/people who come in contact with microphones and mic stands...what's a good, inexpensive stand?

Also, just for some FYI, I've been checking out the following site and plan on buying the Tama HT15W Drum Throne and the Ultra 6521 Microphone Stand.

So, if you have any ideas better than those, I'd appreciate it. And I'd like to stay in a $50-$60 max for both items. Thanks in advance!

I think the official answer is "later and maybe".

For what it's worth, the mic stands I saw at the tour didn't have a controller "slot".

Being a drummer, I have to say a throne really does not matter when you play. As long as it has an adjustable height and is at least mildly comfortable it should be just fine.

Being a drummer I have to completely disagree. :P

Sure, any throne will get you at the right height, and they're all acceptably comfortable.

I never want to sit on anything else. =)

DUDE! I have been looking for that everywhere! You didn't steal it from me did you?
xD

I have to say though. My couch will work fiiine, if not I'll use my drum stool from my set I have.

I got a more serious question.

I am not a real life drummer, so bear with me if this seems dumb. Is a drum throne really necessary? I mean, I was looking into getting one with Rock Band, but before I spend money on a chair I'm only gonna use for one video game, is it worth it? And is it necessary?

As long as your couch or a chair are at a comfortable height for you to drum, you'll be fine!

...but you'll be soooooo much cooler with a throne. It's soo much more realistic!:p

As a drummer, I'm gonna be honest, using a real chair of the right height is totally fine on me and my bum. The height is really the problem. Fortunately for me I like sitting high, so most "real" chairs I can use fine. No, I can't swivel around but I rarely do on a real set, I doubt I'll be movin all over with a tiny 4 piece set. Myth: BUSTED!

lol edit: chare =/= chair

Seconded...I don't know if I would still be playing had I not upgraded to one of those. My old Gibraltar seat was awful on my back.
