sadly i agree with the OP, having not been a fan of rock in general before buying this game, i would like to see some more well known bands... and just for the record... can i buy a black man? this game seems kinda racist imo...

also songs like thrasher, the metallica 3 pack, working man, and the number of the beast ended up on my download list for the sole fact that they have difficult charts, i've since finished them all on guitar but if they were easy charts they would stay in the not to be downloaded list. i usually download any large packs for the simple fact that someone likes it and if i go online it gives me more variety, i juts wish tehre was a /delete feature where i can delete songs that are utter garbage like NiN pack, sick sick sick, and sprode!

my problem is i just have too much damn money so ima download the packs regardless, im sure ill get both packs coming next week just like i bought the cars album and imo the entire cars album is utter trash! but it's music and i like music so oh well.

First off, requests are just that... requests. There's no guarantee that ANYthing that ANYone requests is going to be in the game. And just because it WAS requested, doesn't mean that is WHY it's in the game.

Secondly, you want well-known bands...you know like Atreyu? Who is the blue f*** is Atreyu? Wasn't that the kid from the Never Ending Story?

I also noticed you didn't mention the Disturbed tracks at all. Probably because you liked them, and will download them. You didn't mention that, you simply came to complain about the other choices (and I emphasize the word choice). Assuming you like the Disturbed tracks, what do you have to complain about if you like 1/2 of the songs released for a week? Disturbed isn't exactly a no-name band either.

As for not hearing of Jimmy Buffet, if you took the time to hear the tracks (mainly Margaritaville) you'd realize you have heard this song at least once in your short, miserable life. If you haven't, go back to listening to your iPod, and leave us alone.

Just remember taste is subjective and just because YOU don't like something doesn't mean someone else does not. I will not attempt to put you down cause again its all taste and opinions and yes I like a number of the bands you stated you wanted in the game but if you have a narrow view of music you are probably going to be continually disappointed over many weeks but that is no reason to be insulting and put down music that many others like.

On the official DLC thread for 6/3 for every negative comment about the Buffett music there are like 8-10 positive comments. Buffett does not fall into my particular taste of music but I will be picking up Margaritaville as that is a fun song and great for parties.


I can tell you from experience that a lot of the music I like now I never cared for back when I was younger so stuff you are putting down today you might be surprised to find yourself listening to a few years down the road.

Still, I just don't see why the OP would come on here and complain that you don't know about the artist and complain about it, when in fact he's pretty much a well-known popular artist.

On top of that, Buffett says he's a fan of the game and goes out and creates new master tracks specificially for the game.... and the OP is bashing the artist? Wow. And the OP is calling us lame for bashing on him. If Metallica went out and created new master tracks for the game, I think it's a nice gesture. Doesn't mean I wouldn't buy it, because Metallica isn't my thing, but it's a great idea for the game and the fans of Metallica.

I love lancer evos but this post was 'SUPER STOOPID'! I never heard of the Franz Ferdinand before playing Burnout 3: Takedown and guess what? My first album ever bought. I enjoy hearing new music even if I've never heard the artist. We ALL find new music like this so give the Jimmy Buffet a chance. I never used to listen to southern rock before playing 'Freebird' in GH2 and would have never gotten into Freezepop if it wasn't for GH1. I mean putting up outlandish claims about HMX and thinking people will agree is plain wrong.

I was really frustrated for a while, and then we got Train in Vain, one of my favorite songs. Patience pays off. Or go play something else for a while. It IS just a game.

I was actually talking to my friend LAST WEEK that I would love to see 2 out of 3 of the Buffet songs in Rock Band. If you don't know about Margaritaville.... Well I feel sorry for you.

Great work Harmonix! Although I would love to see more Metal, Rock, and various other genres, you still manage to bring out a plethora of wonderful songs.

I also understand that when you bring things out that I do not like, I don't have to get them, and wait patiently for the goldmines... even if some are a little tarnished. ^_~

What surprises me more than the complaining about Buffet is the fact that NOBODY SEEMS TO KNOW WHO HE IS. All the stuff on the first page about "i've never heard of Jimmy Buffet" and "some of my friends have heard of him". I can't believe everybody hasn't. He tours all year long pretty much, selling out every single venue he goes to. His concerts bring in more money than 99% of bands in existance do. He's about as well known as well known gets.

I for one love Jimmy Buffet's calm, tropical music, and am very excited about the announcement.

A lot of people on these games-- especially those on the forums-- live in an enclosed world of music. They play games like Guitar Hero and Rock Band, finally hear some good bands, and realize that these are the "cool" bands to listen to. They turn down most other music besides them, act as if they've known these bands all along, and tend to hate on everything else.

Note the huge Dragonforce craze, despite the fact that everybody claims that they've listened to the band before it was on GH3.

Anyway, basically, it's sort of a rule of thumb. Whenever a band that hasn't been on either Guitar Hero or Rock Band before is added in, people will be disgusted and whine about it. Why? Because they haven't heard of the band before, and as far as their musical knowledge goes, if the band hasn't been on Guitar Hero or Rock Band, then it's not cool.

People such as me who have heard of Jimmy Buffet before, however, and don't live in a game-revolving world will realize that he will make a great addition to the game (well, at least in personal standards-- I'm sure there are plenty of people who have listened to him before, and simply don't like him). And the next time Jimmy Buffet is added in to either Rock Band or Guitar Hero, people will be praising it, because it'll be cool by then.

I think the only solution is for Harmonix to make a game called LancerRevolution Band. It'll only contain songs that he (or his cool guitar playing friend on youtube) can play, or any song by a metal band that everyone has heard of. (But not their new stuff, their new stuff sucks)

Or, perhaps LancerRevolution has some deep psychological reasoning for coming here and complaining. We should be trying to help him.
Maybe writing a letter to Metallica would be theraputic for him.

I'm a "son of a son of a sailor" and i went to "Margaritaville" a place in "Mexico" I met a "Brown Eyed Girl" . I asked her "why dont we get drunk and screw".

She called me "Ace" as i picked up my "blue guitar" and played "changes in latitudes, changes in attitudes" made famous by Jimmy Buffet.

I looked at my watch and said "It's Midnight and im not famous yet" she told me not to worry cause " it's five o'clock somewhere".

I told her great i bet "The Tiki Bar is Open". She was in the middle of a "Turnabout" and suggested "this hotel room" Up on the hill".

As the night went on i felt like a "Volcano" "waiting for the next explosion'.

To the OP: I don't have any Jimmy Buffett, Van Halen, Metallica, Atreyu, Sum 41, or Iron Maiden on my iPod. I didn't get any of the Metallica DLC, and I'm getting the full Buffett 3-pack. I wouldn't get any of those other people. Well, maybe Sum 41 if my daughter said she liked it.
