DLC Pricing

Sooo, let me get this straight... I can buy a 3-song Disturbed pack for $2.99, or buy the three songs individually for $.99 each, totaling $2.97. Yeah, it's two cents, but why would anyone buy the pack?

Yer that does seem weird. This was brought up when the Harmonix Pack 1 came out, apparently its nothing to do with Harmonix and it all just depends on how Sony do there pricing.

i dunno, it works out identical on xbox though, 80 ms points = 240 for the pack so there is nothing gained or lost from it. otherwise, yeah some people have already brought this up way back when the OXM pack came on the store with the same price structure.....

the xbox prices equate to the same. 80 points x3 = 240. so im guessing it would only be the sony prices that make it cheaper to buy individual songs rather than the 3pack.

Sony does things all sorts of dumb, you can also say they have odd pricing structure because most peopel are dumb? or because they make no sense as to how they run shyte, or etc or random babble.

Unless you are refering to the one penny extra per song (1.00 vs. .99), I have no clue what your point is.

1600/20=80. what are you trying to point out? It makes perfect sense to me.

Even if the songs were 1.99$ each one, I would still buy them. It's true, the pack in this case cost more than downloading them separately (whoa, 0.02$ are a looooooooottttttt of money), but as someone else said, I prefer to pay 0.02 extra for buying them and downloading them all with a click.

Hell, this thread is just an excuse for the 360 fan boys to come bashing sony for 0.02$ ... I smell console wars again......

Well, at least in my case, when someone mentions sony fan boy, i don't take it for me, since I don't consider myself a sony fan boy (Maybe I'll get an Elite this month if only my stupid courier service I use to import worked). Maybe you are labeling yourself as a 360 fan boy since my comment wasn't forwarded to you, only to the 360 fan boys in general.

EDIT: Just to clarify, <console or company> fan boys are different than <console or company> users. I didn't say "360 users" ;)

Eh. I'll live with having to pay $.01 more a song so we can get them two days earlier.

Although, if I was buying DLC for the PS3, I would have saved up enough by now to buy an entire stamp!

the only problem with that logic is that the pack of 3 is at a discount too and will go up from 2.99 as well to the 440 points and the normal 3 pack price of like 5.49? I forget what the actual price really is, which would go back to the default of saving on the three. But yes, when the packs go back to default price then the 3 pack will save you money like the Buffett pack.

Sony isnt dumb. I've seen quite a few ... 1 click download instead of 3, for 02 cents, works for me ...... posts already.

So if it sells 100K ..... with half choosing the pack for a single click download.

50K X 0.02 ...... $1000.00.

Lets think of how many different types of stuff at the Sony Store that they can squeeze 0.02 from. I would call that smart.:)

haha on a random note im on 360 so I dont get the 2 cent option but if I did I dunno, with the cost of gas now I would need to squeeze out every penny possible. It feels like it costs me more to drive to the bank to put my paycheck in than i get in my actual paycheck! :eek:

wrong I think. the pack right now is 2.99 on sale. when the other songs go back up to the normal price the pack goes back to the normal price as well I think. so it will jump for a single from 0.99 to 1.99 and the pack from 2.99 to 5.49 I think

I never really downloaded a pack once so I don't know the price. I thought that packs are discounted always though.
