How do I create a bass player?

Having played upwards of 70 songs on both guitar and drum, I wanted to do the main solo tour on bass. The problem is that I can't seem to create a bass player. From the main menu, I press "solo mode" and the tour-thing. I then get to choose from my existing guitar-player or create a new one... but no bass players. I don't get to choose the instrument. It's as if the game is expecting me to play a guitarist when I go into tour mode.

I tried using the PS3's controller-change-thingie, but no matter what I switch to, it's always guitar. If I use my sixaxis-controller, the character creation only allows me to create a vocalist... still no bass-player.

What should I do? I feel like I've tried everything. Any thoughts?

No solo bass tour.

Seems very weird not to include a bass mode. Have Harmonix made any comments as to why they didn't include this feature?

its funny cause its one of the most requested features...and its "unwanted"

the game just doesnt feel complete without the 4th band member getting a solo tour

Harmonix said before Rock Band came out theres no bass tour as bass can get alittle dry sometimes, that is why bass has a 6 times multiplier rather than the normal 4.

yeah its in the store>instruments you have a option to buy a bass and a guitar
