If you read or scroll down a bit, it is stated that RedOctane has filed trademarks for Keyboard Hero, Drum Hero, and Band Hero. Obviously Drum and Band Hero are old news seeing as how we have Rock Band...but the possibility of a Keyboard Hero is very exciting to me. I am heavy into industrial // EBM // Electronic music and I LOVE Guitar Hero and Rock Band! But if a keyboard peripheral and accompanying game filled with said genre of music is in the works...
Anyways, I was thinking about it and I was trying to come up with some artists // tracks that could fit in the game. I was hoping the people of this forum could help me with some suggestions. Here's what I have so far:
KRAFTWERK - ANYTHING (Fathers of electronic music...they would have to be in)
Rammstein? (Early works...full of electronics)
Oomph! (First Album)
Imperative Reaction
And One
X Marks the Pedwalk
Leaether Strip
Funker Vogt
E-Craft
Front 242
Frontline Assembly
Covenant
Nitzer Ebb
Although I hate to say it...alot of newer stuff I would love to see in this game I don't think would make the grade. This kind of music is mostly just inputting one loop into a computer and playing it over and over these days. But hey, who knows.
Suggestions? Comments? Criticisms? Hate? Anything?

Could it be more than just keyboard? It can be piano too, right?
How about some:
Moonlight Sonata from Ludwig Van Beethoven
Love of my Life from Queen
and maybe the main Final Fantasy theme.

How would that possibly work though? A keyboard with just 5 buttons? That seems kinda lame. A keyboard with lots of buttons? Might as well play the real deal.

No Thomas Dolby or Gary Neman? Doesn't sound complete without "She Blinded me with Science" and "Cars"

Part of the appeal of these games is that they can distill a full musical experience down into something relatively simple. The RB drums, for example, have a total of 5 pieces to keep track of (4 pads and a pedal), guitar controllers have like 7 parts.
I don't see how a keyboard-themed game could emulate the experience of a full keyboard and simplify it down to something with that very limited number of buttons/controls.
I would personally not read too much into those name filings. It is more than likely a defensive maneuver to stave off competitors and cheap knock-offs trying to capitalize on the "hero" name.
Myself personally, I would like to see a "Sax Hero" game. The only caveat is I'm not sure how you'd handle the controller. The frets buttons or sax equivalent are self-explanatory, but I'm not sure how'd you blow into the instrument and have it registered. (Not to mention the gross-ness of sharing controllers... blech!)

Remember, Activision is the king of whoring sequels (Tony Hawk, anyone?). I can see them trying it. I expect it would fail miserably (too hard to balance challenge and abstraction), but I expect they'll try...

Besides Tony Hawk, what other series has Activision whored? EA whores more series than Activision does.

Call of Duty, too.
I'm just saying, I kinda expect them to try to 'push the envelope' instead of following Rock Band's full-band style. And when I say push the envelope, I mean make horrible spin-offs that suck.

EA still holds the International Whore title. Activision doesn't even come close. I can understand maybe one more Guitar Hero game that is based solely on guitar, but they're eventually going to have to jump ship and make a Rock Band-esque title. (With or without the Guitar Hero name.)

Just about every song from the 80s had a synthesizer, so the possibilities are endless. Here's three that I really want:
Mortal Kombat
Rainbow In The Dark
.... and.....
IT'S THE FINAL COUNTDOWN!

Wasn't there a barrage of trademarks talked about last Spring? I could've sworn it had Keyboard Hero on there.

Call of Duty and Guitar Hero are two others, at this rate buy the time I'm 30 we'll have a total of 11 Call of Dutys, 10 Guitar Heros(not including spinoffs), and god knows how many Tony Hawks.
EA is getting alot better as a game company and Activision is kinda becoming old EA imo.

You didn't really make it clear what you meant. Yes, there was a long list of trademarks that were made a while back.
And EA is still International whore. Activision has two games they whore. Call of Duty, which is a good game series and never really had a bad game. Tony Hawk, which is mediocre. As for Guitar Hero, they've only had it for a year and have only made one game. GH, GH II, and GH Rock the 80's were all made before the merger with Activision.
EA is still having trouble not being a whore, besides the entire sports market (FIFA, Madden, MLB, NHL, Rugby, Tiger Woods.) They give all of us a constant barrage of movie games that makes us all want to vomit.

New Order and Depeche Mode definitely. And yes, the game would probably fail, miserably, seeing as it could never reach as wide and audience as GH. Just thought of it as a kind of fantasy, I guess. :P
