If you're talking about people correcting spelling and grammar, then yes it is annoying. Nobody's trying to write a novel, or write an important document, spelling and grammar don't matter here. I only write with mostly right grammar and spelling because, one, I don't wanna screw up at skool, and two, it's just how I write/type. Good point, mercury.

Well we all thank you for not being that guy, i never made it to ninth grade and i've had a good career as a carpenter/roofer so i really have no use for proper grammar, now reading a tape measure that's where i shine, swinging a hammer i can drive a sixteen penny nail with one hit but sadly i can't use those skill's here.

I only care about bad grammar if the text is completely unreadable, there's no point in correcting someone who only makes a few small errors.

And I've Found that people correcting other people rarely do any difference.

All kidding aside, I think people do it so it makes your post seem like it's less validd, or to insult your intelligence. It usually happens in some sort of debate, and since you made a typo, that obviously means their point is much more right than yours. I'm with the people that don't have a problem with it as long as I can tell what you're trying to say. ^_^

As long as you use capitalization, commas, and periods, I frankly don't care. It is nice to be able to see what people mean on the first read through.

When I'm online I generally don't correct people on their grammar, but it's definitely annoying. I find it hard to take somebody seriously when they type like a third grader.

I generally won't correct you.. but honestly presentation (especially on the internet) is key.

Reading something... even a wall of text.. really takes the oomph out of a thread... EVEN IF I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH THE TOPIC AT HAND.

I'll be honest here: since language is my bread and butter, seeing some of the posts with really, really mangled English makes my hairs stand on end. I assume you feel the same way when you see a really poorly done carpentry or roofing job, Mercury. You're always more aware when people mess something up that's related to your own profession.

I'm not going to get worked up over it or correct anyone, though...there'd be no point in it. As long as I can still make out the poster's intent without using a secret decoder ring, I'm fine with it.

The only thing that bugs me are big walls of text without capitalization or punctuation, because they're simply too much of a pain to struggle through. I tend to ignore those...if a poster is too lazy to type whatever he has to say in a legible manner, I'm going to be too lazy to read it :D

Yes i have indeed seen some pretty sketchy stuff i once worked with a guy that wanted me to climb fifteen feet up a hundred year old wooden ladder onto a snow covered metal roof (which is like walking on ice if you don't know) with an exstension cord tied around him so he wouldn't fall i'm like i'll stay down here and hold the ladder for you.
