I Have an SL drum set and I must say that these silencers work great! Much quieter as well as better rebound, and most importantly, no loss of sensitivity. I did ..And Justice for all at 98% on Hard (for me, that is perfectly normal :)

I highly recommend them for SL owners.

Can I have a link to these drum silencers? Also what does SL mean?

Are these the official silencers?

I've heard that they reduce sensitivity and don't really reduce sound that much, but I've also heard that they work really well. I'll have to pick them up and find out for myself, I guess.

sigh, I just wish I could get my hands on some SL's.

SL is new? Like a fixed version of the EL or QM?

Apparantlly, ive heard lots of good things about um, just when you get them just protect them aka silencers and arm supports and then go for it. I hope I get some in my replacement box.

When will they be in stock again?

I got them too a few days ago... they do reduce the noise and I haven't noticed major sensitivity losses... although I'm not an expert drummer

i bought the rockband drum silencers from gamestop (not sure if their harmonix brand though) but they work great as long as you remove the rims from the drums (which is an improvement anyway imo)

Awesome, thanks for the review! I've been waiting to see how they work with the SL kit for a while so I guess I'll pick up a set this weekend and give them a go (and can finally get rid of those ugly socks I have wrapped around the heads)!

In response to Alonzo: Basically there are 3 different models of drum kits out there, the EL, QM and SL which were released in that order. Check this thread for more info: http://www.rockband.com/forums/showthread.php?t=22451

How's the sensitivity after using these, I have the SL drums and other foam/felt pads and I lose alot of sensitivity.

Also what are these pads made out of?

just got these, and while they are quiet, i was missing notes left and right on my EL set, so if you have an EL i wouldnt get these, im stilll waiting for them to send me my replacement drums so hopefully i get an SL kit:(

I wonder how they work on a QM set, I'd hate too lose any sensitivity(Seems like I can only do the rolls on a QM set) but I'd love for them to be more quiet.

I just bought these pads yesterday but I won't get to try them until tomorrow with my SL kit. I'll post back here with my findings which will hopefully concur the the OP and others!

OK, so I've installed the official silencer pads on my SL kit and I'm kind of torn on these things. The sound dampening is EXCELLENT. Much, much quieter than the bare pads (even more so than it seemed in the videos I've seen). Sensitivity in the centre of the pads seem to be unaffected, however sensitivity around the edges of the pad are much lower than normal. I have to hit pretty hard to get it to register around the edge, especially towards the bottom of the pad. I just tried the Expert drum roll on Train Kept a Rollin' and got 90% for the first time so maybe the extra rebound is helping here - my previous record was around 84% so this may have been a fluke since every try after my 90% with the pads I was usually getting around low 80's).

On a side note, the first full song I tried was Dead On Arrival which I've been struggling to beat for the past few weeks and I beat it on my first try today with the pads so I guess the sensitivity loss isn't a huge issue althouigh I have my doubts that they were the sole reason I beat the song. I'm also using my new Vic Firth drum sticks for the first time so that may be a factor as well.

I'm going to do some more testing but so far so good.

Love them. I just installed them on my set last night. Didn't see any decrease in accuracy (playing on Hard) outside of my own mistakes.
