Has anyone tried using a usb splitter (360 version) so that 2 mics register as singing at the same time in the game? Does this work? What did you use to do this?

No, because having more than 1 person sing at once is a good way to fail right away. The pitch detection will usually go crazy if more than one person try to sing, since they will not have the exact same pitch and each person will have a different amount of vibrato in their singing voices.
Bottom line, more than 1 singer will usually fail.

Somebody had taken two USB mics and spliced them together to register as two mics. He and his friend would sing together but both only sang during the chorus. Not sure how well it worked with pitch detection though.

Wouldn't work really. When I'm playing with my band if our drummer gets too into the song and starts singing the mic starts picking up her vocals which are so off pitch rather than our singers.

i'm not sure it would work all that well with the pitch detection stuff, if you wanna have a second singer for like a harmony part or a second vocal part, just pretend he or she has a mic, lol

I think you could do local score duel or tug-of-war if you hook up 2 mics, but that's about it.

I always thought about having a baby amp with a mic plugged in for back up vocals.

well if one person sang at a time the other played say guitar/drums then they could switch if one gets tired

I think everybody is missing the point of this topic. He isn't asking how well it would work, just if it could be done. Thus far I have been unable to find the thread I mentioned in my first post, but I suggest trying to do some forum searches on the subject if you are that interested.
