it's a lolcats.com reference, I'm sure. You never had to deal with the lolcats craze? My girlfriend showed it to me a few months back. It's been around a long time. It's an internet joke, like the All Your Base.

It's based on lolcats.com. The basic premise of the site is to come up with funny picture of cat and attach a witty quote which the cat might say to describe his situation.
