Ok, no one believes anything without pictures, and I don't...nor will I have any pics. But anyways, I'm only posting this so I can claim to be the first when someone does inevitably get the pics.

I went to EB in Canada today, and looked at the preorder box for RB and there were TWO unannounced songs on the back. Those being....

Next To You - The Police
Foreplay/Long Time - Boston

Like I said, I know eventually someone else WILL get pics...but I wanted to be the first to say. Yay for giving news for once. :P

But to walk you through how I discovered it, it was on a last minute whim honestly. I wasn't even thinking about RB when I walked into EB, I was actually dropping off a resume. As I'm walking out, I see the GH3 preorder box, and then I remembered about When You Were Young, and Black Magic Woman were discovered that way...so I thought hell I'll look at the RB box just in case. So I'm browsing through the songs listed...and there's between 15-20 listed...and I see these two that have never been mentioned. So I HAD to say something before anyone else, so I rushed home, and here we are. :P

I'm sure someone will have pics soon...and if they don't by tomorrow, I have a job interview there tomorrow at 1:30pm ct time...so i will try to borrow someone's camera if i can.

i really hope you're not just bustin my balls, but i trust you, I hope. I work at a GameCrazy so Im going to look for a RockBand preorder sheet and hopefully it will have to info that EBs does. If this is true then today might just be one of the best days I've had in a while(played GH3, payday, sick game of frisbee, then this)

I'm prone to believe this. I live in Canada so normally I would venture out and see so I can take pictures for myself but nonetheless it's rather late so I'll take your word for it. Good looking out man.

Oh and I just listened to the Boston song after the "foreplay" and I must say it's a win in my books. Love the guitar in it particularly the solo, and the clapping. Sounds as fun as More Than A Feeling and that was my favourite song in GH1 outside of Texas Flood. Sure it was easy but it felt good to play.

I'm usually very hesitant to believe this stuff, but I know that the same idea of boxes seen ahead of time have leaked songs for both Guitar Hero 80s and GH3. I'll wait for pictures, but until then, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt since you've been here a while and probably have no reason to lie about this. This would be great news if true. I really wanted some Boston. I actually suggested Foreplay/Long Time back when song suggestions were being taken.

Here's hoping both are masters. Most people tend to forget about the possibility of songs still being covers given the enormous ratio of masters to covers we've been blessed with so far. I'm surprised no more covers have ever been announced since the first three way back when.

Yeah when I first checked to listen to it on YouTube I had a feeling this might be the one. I love this song, could care less for the song choice of The Police. But then again I'm spoiled because Guitar Hero 2 already had the one Police song I really like.

I live in Brandon, Manitoba...and I saw it at Electronics Boutique I'll be really surprised if I'm the only one that sees it. Brandon usually gets everything late...so I don't know why no one else has found it. Maybe no one has looked yet..? Anyways, I'll get pics tomorrow...someone might even beat me to it by then. The RB preorder case was right underneath where the checkout is...so make sure you look there if anyone goes to check it out.

I would love to see Boston's first and self titled album for DLC. My friend's let me borrow it and I just can't stop listening to it. I don't have GH1, so I've never gotten to play More Than a Feeling, but I want to. If that album comes out for DLC, I will love Harmonix long time (for <i>much</i> less than five dollars, mind you).

Foreplay Long Time (my computer doesn't know how to slash...) doesn't surprise me, Boston is a very well rounded band, I was expecting this or Smokin'. Don't get me wrong, I love this song to death, and can't wait to play it; but I kind of expected it.

Next to You.........

This song will be killer on drums, and should be fun to play. This song isn't getting the love it deserves, even though it is a little pop-y it's still pretty fast for a Police song. Im pleasently surprised by this song!

This game's diffuculty is IMO gonna be more in the drums if anything, Foreplay, WGFA, Highway Star, Tom Sawyer, Next to You...

this will take a while to learn.

Well I still plan to try to get pics when I go for my interview in a little less than 10 hours. According to the box..Foreplay IS included, as it says "Foreplay/Long Time - Boston" on it. Remember, there has to be some tracks that are more geared towards guitar for the guitar campaign, so it's very possible they stick in a song with no vocals for the first couple of minutes. It is an almost 8 minute song after all.

Yeah, I s'pose, it jsut sounds more like a GH song than a Rock Band one, and I thought they were waiting for the DLC to release intrument specific tracks. It's a really good song and I hope it is in it, and if it turns out to be true I apologise for my suspicion!

Eagerly awating pics for proof before I get too excited, but damn...Foreplay/Long Time would be just killer. I had that on my wish list for GH2, but it works so much better for Rock Band, just awesome.

As for the 2 minutes of no vocals, I LOVE that they're doing stuff like that...like in WGFA when there's a 1 minute keyboard section in the middle of the song...it just feels more authentic that way. Gives you (singer) time to work the crowd/drink a beer/pick out which hotties in the front row to tell security to invite backstage after the show/etc...plus, the singer will likely have the tambourine feature perhaps to keep him occupied.

Hmmmm, just downloaded Foreplay/Long Time and I'm getting suspicious, I find it hard to believe that they'd put in a song on the main setlist that doesn't have vocals for the first two and a half minutes. I'll be needing to see photos. Unless they cut out the foreplay part and just go for the Long Time part.

I will be VERY PISSED if they take out the Foreplay part. Even though there's no singing, I could care less. That's like saying, "Hey, let's cut out the first minute of Stairway cause theres no vocals." It's like you're killing the song by doing that. I hope the Foreplay part is in it, and that's coming from me, the guy that wants to rock with vocals.

...as I was listening to Next to You by The Police, I couldn't tell where I've heard this song before, but now I know. The Offspring did a cover of this song and made it a "secret song" on their greatest hits album.

Which brings me to my next point...The Offspring for ROCK BAND! More specifically, Want You Bad by The Offspring.

I'm still wondering if Long Time would work better without Foreplay as a main disc song. I'm down with the keyboard solo in WFGA, but that's after 6+ minutes of rocking out. A keyboard-heavy 2:30 instrumental solo to begin the song is a real slow way to start up the party.

the 2.5 minute intro IS Foreplay, it woudlnt make sense to cut it out and still have it on the box

Agreed. I hope they keep it on, most of the challenging aspect for some of the parts is in the Foreplay part of the song.

I don't really like Police songs in rhythm games. They're fun to listen to, but repetitive as hell (at least Synchronity II and MiaB were).

Alright guys...here's a disappointing update for you all. I just got back from my interview at EB..I think I'm getting the job, so that's cool...but here's what happened.

I was being interviewed in the back room by the guy who's basically the 2nd-in-charge...the actual manager was in the store part. So at the end of the interview, I ask if i could sneak a quick pic of the back of the RB preorder box. He agrees but says I have to be quick so the manager doesn't give him **** if she happened to walk in.

So, I took out the camera and was getting it turned on, when he heard her coming, so i put the cam away quickly, but still had it on. It was a false alarm, so I pulled it out, and bumped the button, and took a pic of the floor by accident, lol. So anyways, I was quickly trying to reload...and then I grabbed the RB case...tried close up/far away/zoom...etc...and it was not at all legible...not even editing would have made it possible to read. So I figured it wasn't worth trying to rush a pic, not get caught, just to get something that wouldn't be any good anyways.

So long story summed up, I'm sorry I wasn't able to get a pic, because even if I took it, no one would have been able to read it anyways. Only reason I tried so hard is cuz I wanted some loving just like someone like sushi gets when he is the first to come out with all the new info and stuff. But alas, because of my ****ty camera, no loving for me..just for the lucky bastard who has a better camera than I. :(

Like I said, I didn't take the pic. And go ahead and not believe me, I have no proof, I don't blame you. But until someone with a better camera than me finds it and takes a pic, all you have is my word, and I know what I saw.

But to be quite honest, I'm very surprised because like I said in an earlier post, we never get things before anyone else, so either you guys aren't looking in the right place...or maybe they're not supposed to put the preorder boxes on display yet, and they did here? I have no idea...all I know is that it's strange that not only I saw something first here...but even moreso that after 2 days, still no one else has found it.

I just wanted to add:
It's quite a shame the amount of distrust that goes on around here. I'm not even trying to put blame on any doubters in this thread, I put blame on all the jackasses who, whether it be RB or GH, lie every chance they get about "new songs" and "new videos" or whatever else. Because of these *******s, I can't simply tell everyone something I know I saw without being called a "shady Canadian", or whatever else. All I'm saying is that yes, I am no better than anyone else here...but give me a break. This is the one and only time I have ever posted "new info" on these forums, and I'm not even bull****ting about it on top of that. So before you class me with all these Rickroll fanatics, and ******ed **** like that, take into consideration for once that maybe once in a while a person can tell the truth about something. Besides the fact I'm not one of those little teenagers trying to grab attention, I'm 21 years old...and trying to grab attention. :P I have much better things to do than lie to people about songs on a game. For what it's worth, I work at GameStop and I can 100% confirm what this guy is saying. I hate to say it, but I also didn't have a camera with me. So I don't have a pic, but I can definitely, without a doubt, tell you that this guy is telling the truth. Both "Next to You" and "Foreplay/Long Time" are in the game. We had the 360 display boxes out.

I work again on Tuesday, so I can bring a camera in then. But I'm sure someone will have the picture proof by then.

Yeah, it just had ~20 songs on it. These 2 were the only two that haven't been mentioned before. Everything else is what you would expect (i.e. Suffragette, Epic, Reptilia, etc.).

Don't worry about the mistrust, people on the internet are always skeptical, it's the number one source of news, and like news; it aint always completely true.

However, for the most part; these boards have kind, sympathetic people on them. If they're being skeptical, the odds are they've been lied to before (anyone who has followed song releases for guitar hero has!), so don't take it personally.

So we have what 7-8 songs to go? Minus one if the announcement on IGN tomorrow is not one of these songs. We're getting mighty close, and I hope they have some juicy final tracks to unveil. If I had to guess though the final Guitar song is going to be Foreplay/Long Time, but then again it doesn't seem to be on the same level as Freebird at least in terms of recognition which is what Sean has hinted at.

I'm sure that's not the final packaging - the pre-order boxes are more advertisements than anything else - seems pretty likely that those songs are going to be in there, though - that's on a short list of actually awesome Police songs and that Boston song should be pretty heard.

No, they don't. I don't know where you got that idea. No retailer would have the time to bother doing all of that for all kinds of new games, movies, etc. each week.
