Here's a couple of fun things lurking in the article...

Not knowing about different difficulty levels existing...

The Rock Band microphone was nothing special. It seemed to pick up voices correctly, though many of the singing parts are very easy in the game. The singer in each demo I saw never came close to failing, and was usually the highest-scoring band member. I think a lot of gamers will become bored of singing rather quickly.

Attempting to illustrate the respective amounts of masters in each game, but failing completely...

Developers of Guitar Hero 3 went to great lengths to acquire original recordings of the songs, and their work has really paid off. The songs sound awesome, and it gives the game that little extra touch that gamers expect.

vs.

Rock Band's song list didn't appeal to me. There were many songs that didn't sound like they were being performer by the original artists

(That last quote is especially amusing considering the whole, you know, singing aspect of the game.)

Shameful. Giving Canadians a bad rep. That was embarrassing, on behalf of Canada I apologize for that mockery of an article.

Considering Rock Band only has 3 covers to date, and Guitar Hero 3 has many more than that. I find the last comment quite funny and shows the lack of knowledge on the writers part.

ps... I love Guitar Hero 3 and cannot wait for it's release! Just don't like to see needless bashing on Rock Band, as I believe it is equally as awesome as GH 3 will be.

That was a rather pathetic article... It barely gave any direct comparisons necessary for such a topic. I'm putting together a better 1-on-1 battle comparison myself and I'm not even paid to do so!

Now now, the Canadian government has apologized for Celine Dion on numerous occasions.

I'm trying to figure out why someone would write an article that poorly. If I wrote something up that bad I'm pretty sure I'd be canned.

better "guitar hero vs rock band" article (actually fairly old, and with a vid!)

http://www.popularmechanics.com/blogs/technology_news/4219297.html

he mistakes Slow Ride as a master, but other than that, it's nicely done.

Hmm, Rock Band has 3 cover tracks...

...Guitar Hero III has like what, 30?

Gosh, Harmonix should have tried harder, they only have ten times less cover tracks
