Don't you find it strange that RB would just almost skip two very popular genres? I think that they definently need to add more to this list!

I don't find it strange at all, since I've not once heard/seen them mentioned before this.
...
And how can a band be "hair?"

Train05

Well I mean groups like Twisted Sister, Dokken, Firehouse... The list goes on!

I still don't see how you can describe a band as hair... Whatever.
I wouldn't mind having a bit of Twisted Sister to buy though. Not at all.

Um search 80s hair bands in this thread and youll find about 879685764342354657 hits, so very strange you havent heard them mentioned and I've seen New Wave mentioned a few times before too. Hair refers to most 80s rock bands cuz they almost all had long hair...duh.

No what I mean is RB hasn't placed them in the game. Only a few exceptions.
I didn't mean the board.

I don't mindlessly read threads on a forum all day like some people apparently think. And since I kind of grew up listening to nearly everything other than 80's rock, I'm not exactly going to know that stuff.

Duh?

Confusing myself. I'll just stop.

I know just pointing out how many others of these there are ;). Anyway I have a huge 80s setlist...not necessarily hair...or new wave...but I think it has a mix of both.

When alot of people mainly between the ages of 28 to 35 here the words rock music they instantly think hairbands,HMX really needs to add some of these bands into the game, they'd make for some good fun party songs.

Love to see some:

Poison
RATT
Warrant
Skid Row
Slaughter
Bulletboys
Winger
Damn Yankees
Cinderella

etc.

Kyler, your setlist needs more Scorpions (The Zoo, Big City Night, No One Like You, ect...). Also some Deep Purple and some more Blue Oyster Cult would awsome (figured they were worth adding since you had other random stuff in the list besides hair metal).

Well It is good a lot of people didn't forget about them. To tell you the truth The Cars are sometimes called post punk which can occasionally be associated with New Wave.

Good question, where are all the hairbands HMX? Do you realize this stuff would be HUGE sellers as DLC?

New Wave is a tough genre for Rock Band since many new wave artists relied heavily on synthesizers and the genre can be an umbrella term for a lot of different musical styles. We've gotten a few Blondie and Police songs, which is something.

If I had to think of some classic New Wave songs, off the top of my head, that might work well in Rock Band...

The Cure - "Killing An Arab"
Adam and the Ants - "Stand And Deliver"
Wall Of Voodoo - "Mexican Radio"
Bow Wow Wow - "I Want Candy"
The Jam - "Eton Rifles"
Flock Of Seagulls - "Space Age Love Song"
Squeeze - "Annie Get Your Gun"
The Undertones - "Teenage Kicks"
Killing Joke - "The Wait"
Plimsouls - "Million Miles Away"
English Beat - "Save It For Later"
XTC - "Senses Working Overtime"
New Order - "Age Of Consent"
Haircut 100 - "Favorite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl)"
Icicle Works - "Whisper To A Scream"

New Wave?

Yeah, well, they got the Cars now, which is a decent start, but we definitely need The Cure. A lot from the Cure.

Good point Spandrel. I am pretty sure you could throw in Elvis Costello in there somewhere perhaps.

I think we could definitely throw in some (early) Duran Duran and (early) Simple Minds in there.

I'd love to have some Killing Joke, maybe "Love Like Blood", "Eighties" or "Chessboards" if it's their middle era... I'd prefer their earlier industrial or later metal releases probably. Either way, some Geordie guitar and Jaz vocals would be fantastic.

Pleased to see "Mexican Radio" there. That would be stellar.

As much of The Cure as can be got would thrill me too.

Mexican Radio would be nuts!

All of the suggestions would work and are great. There are so many artists that could fall under "New Wave" that it is impossible to remember them all.

Elvis Costello - "Oliver's Army" (love this song)
Duran Duran - "Girls On Film" (great bass and drums) or "Is There Something I Should Know?"
Simple Minds - "Promised You A Miracle"
The Vapors - "Turning Japanese"
The Fixx - "Red Skies"

Dont we all,but sadly the guys at HMX are biased and only release music they like, hence the crap DLC the past 2 months or so.

So, basically we're requesting "Rock Band: Rock the 80's"? I'd be down for that. I went high school in the 80s...it would bring back some good (and bad) memories.

Right, because HMX hated 80's music and hair bands in particular so much that they made a game chock full of them as a GH bow out...
