One had the songs but GH2 just had more to do. So I rule with head over heart.

I liked the songs in rocks the 80's the best, but there weren't enough, so i said 2

1: Easiest, coolest songs.
2: More songs. Fun co-op. Hardest.
80s: Middle of the road difficulty. Not worth the 50 bucks though.

One clearly has the best songs, and thats why I picked it. If it had all the same things to do as GH II then it would be perfect. (Multiplayer/pro-face off, improved HO/PO, better Graphics etc...)

I liked the songs in 1 better.

GH1 is the best one... best soundtrack, fun note charts... and many good memories trying to beat Cowboys From Hell and Bark At The Moon..... good times

guitar hero 1 for sure. those bonus songs put it over the top.

I want to say one but the covers and bonus songs kind of turned me off. I think there were only 4 bonus songs I like.
GHII was really the two steps foward no going back in terms of quality and I think because it sounded better I liked that soundtrack better. Also the character design really became a deep, complex, art style. Pandora, Izzy, and Xavier Stone for example just felt more in tune with their music style. The quality and lessons learned and applied make me pick GHII. Specifically on 360.

I didnt play GH1 until after i finished GH2 on the 360 and man it was hard to go back to the ps2 version. Not only did the game lack a whole lot of the innoviation in two (duh, it was the original), but i liked the songs better in two. Plus, you can download some songs and play them on GH2 so, thats who i picked!

1 Definitely had the best songs, for my taste anyway. GHII wins because you can actually do hammer-ons and pull offs lol

Well, I would've said 3 if that was an option simply based on the tracklist
But I went with 2 instead. I can't even stand playing 1 anymore, the songlist sucks ass.

Whoever picked Rock the 80's has got to be out of their minds. I dont have a problem with the set list, well, maybe a little bit, but the game is a joke. $50 for an expansion. Rip off. And they went crazy with the 3 note chords in that game as well.

I know what you mean, but I can't help but chuckle a little at "crazy with 3 note chords", since... musically speaking, chords are structured from 3 or more notes. (Power chords don't count...)

I picked Rock the 80's. Not looking at the price tag.
I liked it most because that's what I find myself playing the most. The songs are much more fun, and not just songs that make you wanna rip your hair out (Institutionalized, Carry Me Home, Freya)
They're the most fun songs, for me, and I also think it helped me get better at GH even. It was good that they "went crazy with 3 note chords". It trained my fingers, and I was able to go back to GHII and 5-star even more songs on Expert.

GHI wins for the songlist. The broken HOPOs hurt it, but not enough to give GH2 the lead. GH80s was amusing for about 2 hours.

I voted GuitarHero2, but if GH1 was different(proface off, hopos, co-op) then it was definitely the best one, because like many of you have agreed upon, GH1 has the best setlist.

GH1 had less misses (Hell, even the Made in Mexico song was tolerable), but GH2 had more hits, mostly thanks to its bigger setlist.
So, GH2.

I almost picked GHI, remembering "Cowboys" (which is definately in my top ten) But then I Recalled Hangar 18, Psycobilly Freakout, Jordan, Killing in the Name, Freebird
(the list goes on) in GHII. Plus, the unrealistic, yet more forgiving hammer-ons and pull-offs make the game feel more fun and slightly more possible than the first. The easier playing was met equally by more difficult notecharts, longer songs, and an overall unmatched feeling of accomplishment when you finally beat Freebird. Plus (as it looks like the difficult of Rock Band and the "unmentionable" game are going to be toned down in diffuculty for a more diverse audience) it will be looked at as the most "hardcore" Guitar Hero. Because, seriously, who didn't find GHI easier after beginning to master the setlist of the second? There's no comparison. As far as songs go, there were misses in GHII, (Girlfriend, Yes We Can, Institutionalized) but the sheer number of perfect songs easily beat out those flops in decision, more so than in GHI.

I'm having a hard time deciding between GH1 and GH2. GH1 has better bonus songs definitely. But they both have gems in the main setlists.
I like how GH2 gives you a detailed breakdown of your performance. And, as mentioned, HOPOs are too hard in GH1.
GH80s has a fantastic setlist too, but the length of the game hurts it (and one of the songs is only 80's STYLE, not a real 80s song... kinda cheap).
Too tough for me to call at the moment...

Hell, even the Made in Mexico song was tolerable.
Ugh. You really think so?

Just wondering, which one?

For the record Farewell Myth owns and I'd love to see a (GOOD!) Made in Mexico track in Rock Band. They belong in RB before GH. The guitar is so-so but all around Farewell Myth was the Radium Eyes of GHI.

I agree that Radium Eyes is a good song. Farewell Myth is pretty fun and catchy, but every time I hear the singing in that song it makes me want to turn it off. Made in Mexico would be pretty good in RB. It has a good drumline
