This probably has already been posted but I will try anyway because I feel like you guys might want to hear that Train Kept A-Rollin is going to be in Guitar Hero Aerosmith according to a leaked Achievement list: http://www.achieve360points.com/forums/showthread.php?t=82148&page

Best cover on-disc IMO.
I didn't realize it was a cover until I paid attention to the intro title.

yeah it was so spot on to me I still question it, but it does indeed say "as made famous by".... when aerosmith gets older, just hire those guys to play behind a curtain at concerts

I noticed it the first time I played but then I was like "Wow, this singer, whoever he is, sounds amazingly like Steven Tyler."
If Rock Band ever gets more Aerosmith and they have to be covers, I hope they bring that guy back. He's awesome.

Well, this one will probably be a re-recording by Aerosmith if Rock Band couldn't get a master. I think that it's the final song and is redone like Cult of Personality or The Devil Went Down to Georgia.

Wait...we know that the song is going to be in the game coming this month thanks to a leaked acheivment list and not an announcement? But...but...but, I thought that Activision was so much more forthcoming with information than HMX. How could we not have these details already. ;)
Agreed, though. Outstanding cover.

You're sh*tting me. They have a couple of achievements related to getting gold star ratings. They really had to rip off gold stars?

agree'd i didnt even realize it was a cover till near the end of the second solo where the second guitarist goes off in a diff way than in the original (had to pull out the cd to confirm) and then i checked the title and was like omfg this is a cover!

I'm guessing you've never played any GH games... They've always had gold stars! They're for 100%, not just some randomly assigned score. I actually prefer it because it lets me know when I've 100%d whereas in RB I have no idea which songs I have to work on.

I think I picked up on this when I went looking for the actual song on ITunes, and all I could ever find was the live version. My guess is that they'll have re-recorded it for the GH version. I guess they *could* do the same thing they did with the Def Leppard pack, which has two live songs.

Except GH's gold stars can be gotten on any difficulty... as was witnessed by my whole stack of them in GH2 and GH3 on Medium (and quite a few in GH2 on Hard).

Yeh that's true too, but it will be the same on GH:A so they're not really ripping anything off RB

Guess that just leaves 4 more songs to be announced.

I think the reason it's a cover in the first place is because the original version most people refer to is the one that you'll find on the Aerosmith compilation Gems, and that is actually a live recording.
Heck even if Aerosmith had a studio master, it would still be a cover. As the song was originally in 1951 by Tiny Bradshaw, but better known versions before Aerosmith were done by Johnny Burnette & the Rock and Roll Trio and the Yardbirds. I believe that even without Aerosmith's OK they could've done this song for that reason. They could also have done "Walkin' the Dog" which also appeared on Aerosmith's first album for the same reason. Roger Daltrey also did a version of this song on his 1975 solo album.
The Rock Band version is a GREAT cover, probably the best in-game. I never heard the original of "Green Grass & High Tides", and while I think the version of "Paranoid" is great, I think it sounds more like the Megadeth version from the Nativity in Black tribute album.

Hard to argue there. Then again, I heard the cover first so it sounds more natural than the actual song :P

I heard the original first... when I saw the final songlist, I sought out the songs I hadn't heard before. I wasn't impressed with the original, but the cover's not bad (except really, really boring for us vocalists).
