From my own personal guess, I think some people will try to play the game playing an instrument and singing the same time, of course, you'll need to hit starpower on the microphone to enable it, thus, going a song with SP can be boring (Sometimes fatal) So, my idea is to make a pedal, with two buttons, Tamberine part incase you need to, and a button to hit for Star Power. Reason behind this is because I sing and play guitar in a band, so in Rock Band, I may have a profile for just that. So I may steal a Mic stand from the garage, and try to play, but this SP thing right there is worrying me. I am pretty sure it would help alot, I can see people trying to double that and an instrument and failing without a pedal like that.

There is no star power button, as far as I know. Overdrive is activated by yelling in freestyle phrases, I think.

Yup. Win for you.

OH! So each instrument has they're own Star Power, and basicly, they all can just combine it for OD?

Each instrument has it's own way of activating Overdrive.
Guitar/Bass - Tilt
Drum - Hit a specific pad after a fill
Mic - Scream at Freeform

In most videos this is accomplished by the person going, "Whooo!" in the mic.

there is also no need for the tamberine/ cow bell parts. You can simple yell "pow" and a few other words in place of hitting the mic.

Or just don't if you're doing well. They're like extra credit: they work for if you use 'em but not against you.

or you could just hit your head off the microphone

Its going to be tough singing and playing another instrument. Unless you have the lyrics 100% memorized, its going to be tough. You have to focus so much on timing the notes on whatever instrument you are playing that the only way you can sing is if the song is second nature to you. There are only about 3-4 songs i think i might be able to pull this off with. Heck, maybe even less.

Is it wrong that I thought of that first? :D

I'd imagine to keep beat you'd have to look up at the screen in the middle of hitting the "beats". I'd bet on that screen getting blurrier and blurrier as the song went on.

This actually brings up something I was wondering. You sing really loudly to activate overdrive... But would hitting the mic against an object (generating a loud, low-frequency thump from what I read in another thread) do it? That would allow you to kick into overdrive without destroying your bandmates' eardrums... I would try this, but alas we've already had our shot at the tour...

They say scream into the mic, but I don't think you necessarily have to SCREAM. There are parts in the song represented by a big green bar that are for freeform singing, in turn activating Overdrive.
You don't have to scream in these parts, you can say "Oh yea!" or "whooooo!" or anything. Just signing anything in those parts does the job. You don't have to scream.

When Overdrive is available it's gold.
