Please help! desperate needing a USB Dongle!

Hello, new here!

I just received my rockband bundle yesterday. I'm in Colombia (South America) so I had to import the whole thing from USA with great effort on it >_<.
Well, when I tried to play for the first time I was totally disappointed as the usb guitar dongle refused to function right out of the box (the led doesn't even lights), but the guitar tries to connect (when i press the connect button the ps button flashes red). I need help from someone here that has a spare usb dongle that can sell me. I can pay via paypal and you can send me the dongle via airmail (cheapest and it can fit a padded mail envelope). Please! I need the usb dongle to play properly this game >_< and the only option that I can find online is to buy a whole new guitar, but that is just unfair and stupid as the usb dongle is the only part that is defective (and to make things worse, right-out-the-box-defective).

Warranty and service is out of my reach... It's impossible for me to send the receiver back as I don't have a USA address to get the replacement back.

Please help me!

Have you plugged it into the mains power?

I didn't do that when I first plugged mine in :o

What do you mean with "Mains power"?

Plugged it on the usb hub included with the game = No good, led off, doesnt do anything
Plugged it directly on the usb ports on my PS2 = No good, led off, doesnt do anything
Plugged it directly on the usb ports on my PS3 = No good, led off, doesnt do anything

The receiver is completely dead :mad:

hmmm... I think you're confusing the usb wireless dongle with the usb hub... The "dead-one" in my case is the wireless receiver for the guitar... the hub works well.

Wireless devices usually need to get a charge first. So let it charge for 24 hours before using it is the general rule of thumb. Some folks forget that you need to charge the batteries before you can use it.

The guitar came with alkaline batteries (Energizer Industrial), I put them on the guitar and the PS button flashes when I press the connect button.

My problem is not with the guitar but with the USB Guitar Receiver that plugs on the console USB port. It doesn't even lights the led on it.

I also tried different batteries, both alkaline and rechargeables, on the guitar to discard a battery problem... The problem is the same: dead receiver.

So, anyone here willing to sell me a spare usb dongle? The shipping from usa to my country shouldn't cost more than 6-8 dollars (via USPS mail, sent in a padded mail envelope, I have already received various small items this way and is safe and cheap) and I can pay for the dongle+shipping via paypal.
