I think that in rock band they need songs where everybody will have fun like Longview by Greenday not everybody likes them but hey that bass solo is awesome and Hot for Teacher by Van Halen who better then Alex Van halen wailing away on his drum set cant get any better you guys need to think this aint guitar hero dont just think of songs that have good guitar solos the whole way through.

I would love to hear songs that really appeal to the drumming part. Guitar Hero is souly for guitars....which is the point. I would like to see songs by Blink 182 (i.e. First Date, Rollercoaster) Just songs that are really fun/hard on the drums and also has good lyrics and fun/hard guitar riffs/solos.

Not only great songs, but songs by bands that are great that people haven't heard of or heard of in a really long time or forgotten about.
Another thing... wireless. I don't know if it's been anounced or not, but that would be a nice touch.
Oh, and DOWNLOADABLE songs. Downloadable content? Who cares. That should come unlockable in the game. Leave out any kind of create-a-song feature. It just gets too messy. But downloadable songs should be key. That would be great if they could do that.
That's what would make rock band rock for me.

custom Custom CUSTOM!!!
Not necessarily song customization (creating your own songs), I can see where development and licensing issues become a pain in the ace, but a create-a-guitarist/bassist/drummer/singer. I know everyone's been feinding for this since GH1. Online Battle of the Band DEFINITELY. Maybe some sort of indicator that tells you how accurately you hit a note kinda like DDR (with option to turn it off).
But most importantly, just a kick ass set list. I know this seems like a no-brainer and I have all faith in Harmonix. But some dude said Hot for Teacher.... hell yea man. I think I've submitted Hot for Teacher about 20 times to the thing on the home page... yep that's it.:D
