I am way too pumped about this game too wait until next year for the individual drum package, so I guess I have to get the bundle. Anybody else in the same situation?......I am kinda pissed about it, any further explanation besides "retail reasons"? I remember one of the first questions people had about the game was whether you could buy individual instruments, and the answer was always YES! from hmx.....
lol, apparently it was really "YES!, but in 2008."

The answer is yes. Just a 2008 kind of yes.
;)
And congrats on taking the plunge!

lots of retail space, different packaging, manufacturing in different bundles. raises costs.
also have to persuade retailers, especially stores with small floor space like gamestop, to carry multiple versions of the same game, which can also confuse customers.
seems pretty logical to me.
are they selling just the game, or is it strictly just the bundle?

You know, they said "Strictly the bundle," so I have no idea, Eman. But who'd only get the game?

But you'd only be able to get it for guitar. And since the guitar isn't that difficult in this game, why bother?

I'm 90% sure they mentioned the game was going to be released individually as well. I can't remember the source but I'm pretty sure. For those who planned on getting the Guitar Bundle at least they can access the game using their Xplorer in 2007.

It's easy. Buy the bundle and then sell the Guitar and Microphone on Ebay. There will be plenty of people wanting individual instruments so their friends can play that don't have them.
Or buy the drums on Ebay. I'm sure somone will sell them.
Downside to buying is you will be paying outrageous prices. It's probably better to sell I in this situation.

There'll still be over 45 new songs to play on the guitar. Not everything needs to be difficult to be fun. (And the challenging guitar DLC planned addresses that issue anyway for those who need difficulty.)

USB mic's are supported, so people could get it for the singing.

If you're in the Twin Cities area I'll buy the guitar from you for about what it would retail at.

I was in that position as well(I want to play Bass,) but once my friends got interested in the game, we decided that I will sell them the drum/mic and they will pick up their own copies. In the end, the bundle-only decision only affects me when I go to pay for the game. I will make my money back shortly after that.

Someone who is planning on getting it for PS2, already has 2 guitar controllers, a USB mic, and doesn't care about drums? :)
Really I'd like to buy the RB bundle for the Wii, but as we all know, the Wii is being ignored so far.

At first I thought the news that individual instruments would be delayed was bad news. Not now that I'm planning on buying the bundle and selling the drums on Ebay. If people are hysterical enough, I just may break even. How awesome it'd be to get the game, guitar and mic for free! (hypothetically)
