And shockingly it's not GnR, Zeppelin, AC/DC etc. Wait, WHAT??? I thought Activision had all these heavy-hitters lined up and HMX had nothing?

http://www.shacknews.com/onearticle.x/53006

Not trying to cause a flame war or anything, I've always said I'd get GH:WT if the setlist and game are good, but I would not download either of these packs as DLC. I simply wouldn't.

And for comparison I've only skipped two weeks completely from Rock Band (HMX pack and thrash pack), so it's not like I'm that picky about my DLC.

Live dlc tracks? That's a pretty bad idea.

They've already released live DLC tracks...and yes, they were a bad idea.

Wow, it's too bad that GH3 sucks so much...

Motorhead has a song named "Motorhead"?

Like I said in the Motorhead thread in General, I think it's great that they're releasing more tracks. But the timing is weird, as they are releasing a full-priced GH:A this month that will have no compatibility with GH3 DLC. It kind of seems like they are competing against their own product, especially after GH:A has been dwarfed by all of the GH:WT news.

And I agree, live tracks need to go the way of the dodo.

June 12 has Kasabian and Kaiser Chiefs?!?!? Nice.

I'm done asking HMX for songs on their Ultimate Setlist forum. I get better results with my requests over at the Guitar Hero site. I'm done asking for songs here.

I figured it would not be long before they had to start releasing weekly DLC, HMX was making them look bad.

1) We don't even know what 3 of the packs are. For all you know, they could be "heavy-hitters".

2)Motorhead is quite popular. The Sex Pistols is no small band either.

3)I'll bet HMX announces some pack of indie bands or unknown songs tomorrow that will make half the people here say "who?" and "GH3 gets Motorhead and we get this?"

Yeah, and they sure picked blockbuster songs to release. Not.

Those are all terrible. The only good pack they released was Muse and IMO they didn't look too fun on GH3.

My argument isn't that Rock Band's DLC is particularly superior to GH's DLC, I think they are generally similar in terms of scale and popularity. I'm just sick of people acting like Guitar Hero has WAY BETTER bands than Rock Band, when that simply isn't the case.

At best, these two track packs are right in line with what HMX has been doing for months. That's all I was trying to demonstrate.

So they release DLC that wont work with anything BUT GH3.......and its some pretty lame songs also.

Rockband all the way!

Guitar Hero 3 Receives Motorhead Track Pack DLC, Four Other DLC Packs Due This Month
by Chris Faylor Jun 05, 2008 10:33am CST tags: Guitar Hero 3, DLC, PlayStation Store, Xbox Live Marketplace
Putting limitations aside, Activision has released a new track pack for the Xbox 360 version of Guitar Hero 3, bringing the following three tracks to the music game:
Motorhead - "(We Are) The Road Crew"
Motorhead - "Stay Clean"
Motorhead - "Motorhead"

The metal-heavy downloadable package sells for 500 Microsoft Points ($6.25) through the online Xbox Live Marketplace. An identically-priced PlayStation 3 release is expected alongside the free PS3-exclusive God of War track in today's PlayStation Store update.

In the announcement, Activision detailed that it would release four other GH3 downloadable packs this month. The next pack, due June 12, features recordings of:

Kasabian - "Shoot the Runner"
Kasier Chief - "I Predict a Riot"
Sex Pistols - "Problems (Live)"

In related news, piano-rock group Coldplay recently revealed to Entertainment Weekly that the band's new single "Violet Hill" will appear as downloadable content as part of a promotion for its new album "Viva La Vida." No pricing was disclosed.

Now if only the Sex Pistols song wasn't live. And was released for Rock Band instead. Then I'd buy it for sure!

lol, all the flamage of these DLC songs is hilarious. If rock band released these songs, people would be bashing the hell out of the people flaming these songs. the fan boys would be saying "how can you not like 1 out of all these songs, if you cant find 1 song out of all these genre's, then you dont know anything about music" but since its not rock band, they flame away and do exactly what they complain about all the time

Probably because Neversoft blows chunks at making note charts, and just keeps proving us right about their inability to make a proper music game.

that has nothing to do with the actual songs though. all these guys are bashing the songs, not the charts. and they are only doing it because its GH and not rock band. if rock band released these songs, all these fanboys would be defending them till the death. I mean.....we just got jimmy freakin buffett........and they are saying that motorhead is trash? LOL

But the Jimmy Buffet songs were actually fun. I can't say the same for Motorhead since I won't D/L it (don't play GH3 anymore).

I don't like Motorhead except for Ace of Spades, But "I predict a riot" is good and i like it.

however i don't buy DLC packs unless i like all the songs.

It';s a double standard when it comes to these fanboys, thats why i just ignore them, their opinions and arguments dont matter to me,if they werent so pro-hmx and biased then i'd take them seriously, until then its in one ear and out the other.Ignore them like myself and everyone else does Darth.

But i agree if these songs were released for RB they'd all be bowing down at HMX feet.

Not too excited about it - I rarely play GH3 anymore, and just to play Rock and Roll All Nite.

If they had done Motorhead's "Cradle To The Grave", I might have been interested.

How assinine. The songs suck (to me) and I don't care what game they're released for. Anyone who's opinion of a song changes because it's in RB instead of GHIII is not to be taken seriously.

Motorhead has a song named "Motorhead"?
Back in the 70s it was a slang term for someone who used amphetamines.

Wow, lot of Motorhead haters in here.

People that hate motorhead are asshats, without motorhead there would be no Metallica, Megadeth, Pantera, hardcore music, thrash music, real heavy metal. They've also influenced a HUGE number of punk and recent bands.

Motorhead are pioneers.

1. Just because a song is released for GH3 / GH:WT does not mean it is exclusive to the Guitar Hero franchise.

2. Kaiser Chiefs - I predict a Riot - is teh awesome. I would love this song for Rock Band.

3. Live recordings are only a hair better than getting a cover.
