What if, theoretically the controllers were programmed the same and they acted the same, if you could take the Drum kit from Rock Band and play songs from Guitar Hero 2 on Medium or Easy mode with it, lol :)
That would be pretty cool just to have a few more note charts to mess around with even if they didn't make much sense.

He's saying "What if you could play GH II with the RB drumset?"

I don't doubt that you could do that.....The buttons are just mapped differently.

Actually, I don't think they're mapped differently (Pads are the same colors as the fret buttons). I do think that the drums wouldn't be recognized as a guitar controller, and therefor not work. It's always a possibility, though.

Considering there's 4 pads on the RB drums, and GHII uses five frets....
You do the math.
It's not mapped right at all, and it wouldn't even be recognized as a controller.

Well, technically you can use the hand controller if you really wanted to, but it would be stupid IMO. (Not looking foward to doing that achievement on GHIII) So in theory, I think you could use the drums if you wanted to also; it would take some getting used to and the solos would be near impossible. The 4 pads for G R B Y and the bass pedal for O.

My 360 controller is broken so i am tired of playing Halo 3 with my Xplorer guitar! j/k

Exactly, as long as there's not something in the drum controller that keeps it from being recognized, it should be possible.

Well someone has already made themselves a drum set for GHII but really... Unless you make custom drum songs for it, What's the point?
As for using the RB drums right off the bat... I'm not going to say it won't happen, but it definitely will not register as a guitar controller. If anything at all it will register as a normal controller but I don't know how you'll manage long notes, unless you hold the sticks down on the pads or something.

Hah, that be pretty awesome if you could hack GH2 to respond to that (especially if you hacked it to show the orange note as a kick bar)
What I Like About You would be impossible for the two-or-less arms drummers.

That would be interesting, just for fun I suppose, but there are a few problems. For starters, the notes were programmed for a guitar, so that would be pretty awkward. Secondly, I don't believe there is any hardware in the drum kit(switch, accelerometer) that would allow you to do Star Power in the same way.

That would be way too good to be true. The ScoreHero charters would all have one massive pants explosion.

A pants explosion indeed. I'm going to go ahead and say that as long as the console universally recognizes the drumset control as a regular control (in that it has the same buttons as a regular control - and I'm almost certain it does) that drum charts will become commonplace until we can figure out how to mod RB itself. I'll personally do some charts if it works out. This is made possible due to our recent ability to mod the xBox version of GHII.
