Okay, really, Linkin Park and Breaking Benjamin are in my top 5 favorite bands, and I love The White Stripes, Coldplay, Tenacious D, and Cake, but come on! Be a little tolerant! Instead of saying what you don't want, just request what you want. Making whiney posts like this is just gonna get people to not like you and it's not going to stop them from releasing anything or remove it from the game. Jimmy Buffett is far from my type of music, but "Margaritaville" is a nice chill song, and I found it a nice addition to my DLC collection. Chill kid.

Seriously, I'm no parrothead but I still plan to download the Buffet songs because I always thought they were fun to listen to. I believe this all goes back to the age old argument: don't like it, don't buy it. I just don't like Jack White's voice. I heard the Raconteurs on the radio the other day with no knowledge of Jack White's involvement, and was like "Man, this ****'s annoying, I can't stand this voice" and then the DJ came on afterwards and mentioned Jack White. It all made sense to me then...

Besides, think of Buffet as extra. The real DLC was Disturbed, Jimmy Buffet was something fun on the side. How many of these reflect his talent, exactly? If you're referring to his musical talent, that KIND of translates to the fact that he's had multi-platinum albums (only 3, according to wikipedia, along with 6 single platinum and 8 gold albums). But really, that and most of the other accomplishments here are just a reflection of how many people enjoy his music. Millions of people like what he does, which means they'll buy his cds, go see him in concert (every year), buy his books, etc. Also, note just how many of his albums have been compilations or live albums...the man barely even writes new material anymore.
Remember, kids, it doesn't take "talent" to have a multi-platinum album or write a NYT best-selling book. You just have to have broad appeal. These things don't always go hand-in-hand.
Marketing suits out there see the kind of fanbase Buffett has and license his names for restaurants, tequila, and beer. How much of a hand does he actually have in the day-to-day operations of those businesses? Probably very little, they just bear his name.
Anyone can have a record label. I could start one today and start putting out music from people just as musically talentless as myself.
The only accomplishment you list here that I'm actually impressed by is the piloting bit. That takes dedication and a lot of hard work. The rest of it was a cakewalk for Buffett.

I would never just come up here and say "no more this for Rock Band" because I respect that, although I don't want it, hundreds of thousands of other people want it. You need to bare in mind that Rock Band developers need to focus on the music almost everyone likes, if they included too much of one type of rock....people could get bored and might not like that sort of rock. They have a wide range at the moment, but they must keep this up, dont complain, they will probably have ur music later on. The music store can only get bigger

Wow a Sextuple post... That's a first that I've seen. It's called the edit/quote multiple posts button.

That aside: The developers have already stated that the game, while being titled Rock Band, is not Rock exclusive, which is why we have songs such as Epic or Sabotage in the game.

Now, your only partially right on the privilege/service part. Yes, they benefit from making DLC, but whats to stop them from completely stopping DLC to work on a new game? Nothing. Therefore, it is both a privilege and a service. That being said, they do not exclusively earn money from DLC. They provide software for the consumer to enjoy, that does not necessarily mean DLC.

Also, using your economics argument, you're basically stating why everyone else's musical taste should be catered to. It is beneficial to Harmonix as a company to release songs across the musical spectrum, and not only cater to one person's tastes.

You're claiming that Band X is better than Buffett. That's your opinion. In my Opinion (The same as many others from what I can see), Buffett was an excellent addition to the game, providing us with fun tracks to play. You can't have an argument whose very foundations rest on your own opinion.

Now can you stop whining? Disturbed was also released so people like you could enjoy something while others could enjoy one or both artists.
