As a 13 year old guitar player and gamer. Guitar Hero wasnt enough for me. So Rock Band comes out. Blown away at the first glimpse of it last year. Now the DLC is every tuesday and i just pray every week its something i would like. Now i'm no ignorant little kid. I like the Stones,Sabbath,Maiden, and all of those types of music dont get me wrong. I just think that some songs from newer bands should be on there more than others. Because look at it this way. The teens and early twenties are the people who probably play this game most. Most of them werent alive for Boston and The Cars (which was the dumbest move harmonix ever made) so some of the DLC goes off to the older users who (no offense) probably dont have as much time to play. They have a job and a family (most likely) so they have to find time to play. While me and my type of people are at home alot nearly all the time and we play each song again and again. So im thinking shouldnt there be stuff i know. Which brings me to the first band The Offspring.
Why not the Offspring? Good guitar work, funny but still serious vocals, drums, and other elements that make sense for a game like Rock Band. Honestly if your in that age demographic i mentioned earlier, Would you rather play The Kids Arent Alright or My Sharona? at least 60% of you said The Kids Arent Alright i think. If im not right oh well screw it i made my point.
Nirvana. Sure Nirvana is in the game but In Bloom? Just One Song is not enough for Kurt Cobain. I say put the whole Nevermind album up you put a sucky album up last time PUT A GOOD ONE UP!! Smells Like Teen Spirit set records for singles and songs like Lithium and Polly would be good songs to slowdown in your setlists after playing a fast song like Territorial Pissings. I think everyone can agree to more Nirvana and if you cant kiss my ass im making a point here.
Slipknot. Yes this one will get people all over me but really how can i not. Its called ROCK band isnt it? People think Timmy is hard but imagine Blister Exists or Interloper. They put Before I Forget on Guitar Hero so it must not be that bad. 9 members would be hard to put but really they could even it out. They have a lead guitarist and a rhythym one. a bass. one drummer. and a singer. the other 4 just do odd stuff custom percussion and sampling so it would work.
Gorillaz. Sure there a fake band (in sense) but Clint Eastwood and Feel Good Inc. are good songs. Their music is slow yes i know but Creep and Say It Aint So are slow and i hear no contradiction to them being on there. I think it would be good to have some Gorillaz songs on there.
One last one Green Day. They sell multi platinum records so i dont know i guess some one likes them. American Idiot and Jesus Of Suburbia are newer songs of theirs but if you dont like American Idiot era Green Day how about Dookie. Welcome To paradise, When I Come Around, Longview, and Basket Case? lets go further down the line Brain Stew, Minority, Redundant, then American Idiot Era, American Idiot,Holiday,Are We The Waiting, Boulevard Of Broken Dreams, Homecoming, Letterbomb, Jesus Of Suburbia, and Whatsername. If any band is put on rock band it needs to be Green Day.
So i leave off with this. Older rock band players, Just because its newer because its for younger audiences dont try to dominate with your classic rock stuff no matter how good you think it is (and it is). Mudvayne,Green Day, Nirvana, Korn, Marilyn Manson, Linkin Park, Breaking Benjamin, My Chemical Romance, Seether, Nonpoint, Sum 41, System Of A Down, The Used, 3 Days Grace, 3 Doors Down, Gorillaz, Offspring, and Slipknot. They need to be on Rock Band. We Have enough of Boston,Rolling Stones, Black Sabbath, and Kiss. Yes their legendary and amazing but please let the video games have newer bands. (i am aware Nirvana and Marilyn Manson arent that new but my point still remains.)
