I'm a decent Rock Band drummer (used to be in the top 1000, though in the past few weeks I think I've fallen out), but I just *cannot* play all of the fast bass kicks in Disturbed's "Inside The Fire" without my leg muscles hurting so much that I stop.

Any tips on technique? The groups of five bass notes are kind of fun, and the runs of seven toward the end of the song are tough but clearly doable. It's just the spots with constant eighth-note bass for multiple measures that screw me up.

(I got "Inside The Fire" pretty much at random; haven't downloaded the other two.)

I found that if I slide my foot back so your toes end 1/2 way up the pedal, you can play more with toes than foot. This makes for much less leg muscle use. i 4 starred all the disturbed on ex last night. You need a strong pedal to do what I said or else it'll snap in 2 seconds

So I see somebody else uses the "curled toe" technique... excellent :)

I play heel up with my toes curled over the tippy-top of the pedal. Feels the best for me, and it also lets me bounce quick. Just me though. Real drummers prolly disagree.

Btw, when did you buy your leg, because if it was more than 60 days ago, you may need to go buy a new one, copy the reciept, return the new one, and use the new reciept as your old reciept to get that RMA.

The thread title made me lol. Personally, I think I need to RMA my brain, but that might get kind of sloppy...
