ok, so i read that some ppl are saying that metal would be two hard because theres only one bass ped. i hate to be the 1st one to tell you... this is a Game. you dont need to hit every note
saying that metal shouldnt be in the game because theres only one bass ped is like saying wow i cant play this song, this guitar dosnt have 24 frets. you dont need to hold the game back, its a amazing game, lets try to get them to put in all the music we can, cuse that DLC is alsome

Although your true,you really wouldnt want to be playing a metal song on drums with all the notes written out. "Paranoid" alone has enough bass drum in it on expert. Im not saying metal shouldnt be in there. But ease on the bass part of the track if possible.

ye, thats wat i mean when i say you dont have to hit every note. they dont need to add evey bass hit, i mean it is a game. i just think metal would be fun and one hell of a work out :D

But seriously, they aren't going to add an entire different pedal for a few reasons.

It would make the "fretboard" so to speak even more muddled with notes as it is on expert

What color would the second bass pedal be, orange? On some songs the whole chart would be orange notes and you would have trouble seeing the other notes behind it.

They didn't add another pedal because the MAJORITY of the songs they want for this game or plan to release DLC on it doesn't need it. Granted it limits some metal bands but they weren't going to go to the trouble of adding another pedal to appease maybe 2 or 3 songs on the main disc tops and some DLC.

sorry for the caps... ITS A GAME... You Do Not Need To Hit Every Bass Note... im not asking for a nother ped, in a song with alot of bass hits they can just cut the notes down... i mean if some one wonted to hit every bass then they should save up for a real drum set

There's not going to be Black Metal in Rock band for no other reason except, while not always but often, black metal vocalists don't actually sing. As in, they don't change notes vocally, an the words themselves are usually pretty indecipherable. They aren't going to release content that doesn't work with the vocal part. I can imagine early stuff - King Diamond or something? - that uses more traditional singing, but you're not going to get Neurosis or whatever, not even as DLC.

In response to the "how would you know which is the other bass pedal" post:
You wouldn't need a different colored bar, you'd just have to know that when there's a lot of bass hits, you'd use both pedals in the same way a real drummer would.

I agree, if getting metal in the game meant taking out some bass hits, I would be right behind it. However, because the game is 4-player oriented, and due to the style of a lot of metal vocalists, I doubt we will see much.

But if there is a chance, Harmonix, a lot of people want metal in the game. Bring on some Gojira!!

I'm all for metal in this game as well as a pedal expansion. I'd love to see HMX comment on this topic rather than a large amount of posts by people who think they are HMX and think they know how this game should or shouldn't be. I don't see any reason why all genres can't be in this game or in some sort of expansion, dlc, etc. I also do not see why an extra pedal in the future could ever be a bad idea as long as it isn't required of course. The more things to make more people happy the better and I know I'd be a million times happier with an extra pedal and metal. I'm also very supportive of anything else that could be done with this game to make others happy as well. The more features the better I think.
