Singstar mic

I was told I could use a Singstar Microphone on Rock Band, as long as I have a USB Adaptor for it. I've since acquired both of these but the mic doesn't seem to be working.

The light on the adaptor comes on when it's plugged in so it can't be anything wrong with my usb ports. The mic is plugged in but when i use the controller to select an option from the menu it says it can't detect a mic.

Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong?

First off, what console? If it's the 360 that may be the reason. Not all of them, but some, tend to not like adapters. I know that when I tried to use my keayboard with one it would not register, but a regular USB keyboard with extension worked fine.

Could possibly be the same thing. Not sure about the other consoles though, I don't own them.

Yeah it is a 360. And it's the PlaySation mic. Will it not work?

I don't think so. Especially since it's a mic for another console, however most USB mics will work.

I saw one at Best Buy the other day for about $20, and I've seen a few cheap and expensive ones at Guitar Center and Musicians Friend.
