just got my RMA'd kit, is the SL the good one?

ok. so i RMA'd my old kit.... blue one cracked, she's pooched. got the RMA in before this whole 60 day thing hit the fan...

anyways, i got an SL kit. much harder to pry off the drum heads, and the sensors are plug n play style. i got to jet to a wedding in about 5 mins, but how are the SL kits? are these the good ones?

ends up i had 2 hours to kill until the wedding... hummmm... what would anyone else do with a brand new drum kit???

so i rocked some disturbed and metallica on expert (minus Blackened) but added message in a bottle for good measure.... blew my metallica scores away by a good 7-10 grand. Justice i think i was just over 190k, and i cracked the 210k. very happy with the responsiveness in the SL model. MiB though, was 10k shy of my high score... i must of been trashed that night i got that scorer and don't remember doing it... maybe that was when my blue one cracked.

disturbed, first time playing them, but i tried the 3 songs on hard, crushed them, then that Indestructible track on expert and 5 starred it... damn thats a wicked song to play... my leg is killing... i love it...

ONE THING NEGATIVE FOR THE SL MODEL...... they are SO loud... its like hitting glass they have such a TAK noise to them... not a thwack or blaap... a high pitch TAK ***** TAK TAK when doing rolls.

other then that, they are freeking booyah!.

i know what i'll be doing tomorrow while nursing my hangover....

There have been multiple reports of even the SL's being crap. Congrats if you got one of the good ones though. Add some pads to mute the noise.

Sounds like you got pretty lucky, I did the express replacement before this 60 day thing as well, got an SL set that was horrible, dropped notes in rolls, dropped notes when doing single hits, and sock mod did nothing. Looks like that one is going back and I'm stuck with my sock modded QM that drops single green and yellow notes lol.
