One thing that worries me a bit, since we're going to have a metric ****ton of songs before the holiday season is over, are we going to have to still us the Xbox Live built in DLC downloader? I'd rather not scroll through 5 minutes of song titles just to find the one I like, so any knowledge/ideas on this?

Praying for a built-in one, organizes by song, etc.

Yah, most people are hoping for this, but we're not sure if it's possible on the 360. Someone did show a screenshot from Karaoke Revolution I think it was that had a custom GUI for buying songs, but I thought that was just a Playstation title, not 360...maybe I'm wrong there...

bungie has a cool system set up for media file sharing on bungie.net, if you click to download something on their website it is added to a queue which will begin downloading the next time you play halo 3 and your "membership" on the website follows your xbox live gamertag, so its possible?

Harmonix has said they have big plans for the community site and the game, something like that could definitely be part of it I think.

yea, good point Reaper. bungie did make a really good "marketplace" type interface for Halo 3. I could see something like that making its way to the DLC portion of the game

I think it was PS2 first, but then came out on 360, with all the downloads. I don't think the PS2 version had DLC. But I could be wrong too.

But if you actually want to run a cash transaction (i.e. purchase Bungie Pro), are you able to do that outside of the standard XBox Live interface?

That is a pretty good idea, never thought of that. Would be a whole lot easier to sort through bundles/genres/bands and figure out what you've already purchased and everything like that. Dunno how the whole Microsoft points thing would work through that though...guess we'll see.

i don't think you could do the bungie idea because paid content has to go through microsoft because of DRM. What i'm guessing is that they could have an in-game menu which would check their server to see what they have. Then you could scroll through the harmonix marketplace (i don't know what to call it) and when you want to make your selection the actual xbox interface pops up straight to the song/ album you want to download. that's my guess and i hope it's something like this

For PS3 supporters, the Playstation Store will soon be completely available online as well as through the system. I'd imagine this will make song purchases much, much simpler than scrolling through page after page of DLC on the system's store (assuming HMX doesn't create some sort of GUI themselves).

I'd really like it to be like Bungie's Halo 3 interface. Very easy to deal with.
