View Full Version : Difficulty telling what notes are HOPOs?

In the videos I've seen in Rock Band, I can barely see a difference in the normal notes and HOPOs. I think this may take some getting used to. And IMO, I think the old notes in GH 1 and 2 looked MUCH better.

Yeah I think way they look is gonna confuse a lot of people and they should have made it so that HOPO-able notes glow the color they are or something better than making it smaller. Luckly I'm going to be playing the drums so I don't have to get confused.

Nah, it's really easy to tell when you're actually playing the game.

Good god. You honestly. For real. Can't be thinking I was being serious?
Oh wow.
I thought the wink really gave away the fact I was making a bad joke.

I didn't realize the hopo notes in ghii looked any different than regular notes until I read that here about a month ago. And that was after about 9 months of having the game. So I'm not all that worried. If I can notice a difference without specifically looking for it then it'll be a big improvement.

What is it that signifies that a note is a hammer on or a pull of in Rock Band? Does anybody know?

smaller note. I will say that I think that it is very hard to see in the videos. Could be totally different in real life though.

Same with me. Does it really matter? if the note are close together then you should be able to HOPO them. Theres a rare occasion that you can't, just remember that and strum for each.

RB seems to be doing it better though. And although i like the normal round notes in GH3 the HOPO notes look demented.

I posted the same question in another forum a while back. I hope it will look a lot better than what the videos are showing because man it looks tough to distinguish them.

They are considerably smaller compared to strummed notes and have little metal looking tips on the ends from what I remember on the Rock Band Tour.

I actually have a MUCH easier time seeing HO/POs in the RB videos. I think they're even easier to see on my computer monitor than in GH2 on a big-screen TV.
