I hate emo, I despise it, but if someone likes it, all you can really do is live with it. Complaining about other people's likes in music only makes you look worse and makes everyone else who likes your type of music worse. That's why a lot of goths, heavy metal fans, etc. get a bad reputation for that type of crap.

Yes, unfortunatly for most of those in this forum, rock is a large genre. Alot of popular music (sadly Yellowcard and crap like that(crap is my opinion)) would fall into it, or could depending on the perspective.
