So, for those Iron Maiden fans out there, what would be your ideal setlist for their next tour? One show will be two hours long including all breaks between songs. Keep in mind the placement of songs so that the atmosphere doesn't stay the same the whole way through and that the opener and closer are both good songs for that position. You may make a themed setlist if you would like, too.
Below is mine. The first time in parentheses is the length of the song and the second is how far into the show it is.
1.) "The Ides of March"/"Murders in the Rue Morgue" (5:05, 5:05)
2.) Welcome the fans (0:45, 5:50)
3.) "Children of the Damned" (4:45, 10:35)
4.) "The Trooper" (4:15, 14:50)
5.) "Out of the Silent Planet" (5:30, 20:20)
6.) Song introduction/backstory (0:40, 21:00)
7.) "Alexander the Great" (8:40, 29:40)
8.) "Doctor Doctor" by UFO (5:00, 34:40)
9.) "The Number of the Beast" (4:55, 40:35)
10.) "Run to the Hills" (4:00, 44:35)
11.) Talking (1:00, 45:35)
12.) "Powerslave" (7:10, 52:45)
13.) "These Colours Don't Run" (7:00, 59:45)
14.) "Moonchild" (5:55, 1:07:40)
15.) "Fear of the Dark" (7:20, 1:15:00)
16.) "Phantom of the Opera" (7:30, 1:18:30)
17.) Encore break/talking (10:00, 1:32:30)
18.) "Paschendale" (8:35, 1:42:30)
19.) "Hallowed Be Thy Name" (7:20, 1:49:50)
20.) "Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" (10:10, 2:00:00)
Honestly, this show would kick MAJOR ass.

Haha nice one with ending the concert at that time. I like how you grouped the Paul songs together. Maybe he could come out as a guest? That would be a cool thing to see.

Man, you'll have tons of fun. I saw them in mid-March and it was AMAZING! I only knew The Number of the Beast album going in, but less than three months after, I've bought their whole discography. You'll be amazed. The only advice I can give is learn as many songs as possible, but don't look at the setlist. It's better not to ruin your experience and just get to know as many songs as possible.
If you'd like, I can give you a list of songs that I think are awesome. You could also just use these lists. Once again, you'll have so much fun. I'm trying to see if I can go to the Heavy MTL festival in Montreal two weeks from now. Maiden, Motley Crue, Anthrax, Priestess, Disturbed, and Warrant are playing. What more could a metalhead ask for?!

That's good that you've gotten exposure to that album. It has some great tracks on it. The album comprises of most of the setlist of the show, so if you know those songs, you should be well set up. As far as a list of my favorite songs goes, it would be this:
"To Tame a Land" (from the Piece of Mind album)
"Seventh Son of a Seventh Son" (from the album of the same name)
"Be Quick or Be Dead" (from the Fear of the Dark album)
"Holy Smoke" (from the No Prayer for the Dying Album)
"Dream of Mirrors" (from the Brave New World album)
"Paschendale" (from the Dance of Death album)
"The Angel and the Gambler" (from the Virtual XI album)
"For the Greater Good of God" (from the A Matter of Life and Death album)
"Caught Somewhere in Time" (from the Somewhere in Time album)
There's a short list of some of my favorites. As soon as possible, you should get these albums. If you love Maiden as much as I do, you'll really get to know their music. They are an awesome band and the best ever, in my opinion.

Not to kill anyone's party, but during an interview with NBC, Bruce had this to say:
"We really hope all of our younger fans get out to this tour, because this will be the last time that we play 90% of these songs we have on this set."
What songs comprise this 90%? We don't know, but my guess is that the only songs we ever see from this tour again will be "Wrathchild", "2 Minutes to Midnight", "Run to the Hills", "The Number of the Beast", and "Fear of the Dark".

Make sure you listen to Fear of the Dark live! Then you can re-create it when you go to the concert.

If they played
Children Of The Damned(First Maiden song I enjoyed.)
Run To The Hills(Dude. Who doesn't like this song?!...or the video for that matter?!)
Hallowed Be Thy Name(First heard it with Cradle, original blows it out of the water.)
Fear Of The Dark(It's pretty epic.)
The Trooper(The best usage of their E,D,C riffage pattern.)
Transylvania(Crappy production, but bad ass.)
Stranger In A Strange Land(First real Maiden song I enjoyed.)
Running Free(I heard it in one of the live albums, and it was pretty sweet)
Flight Of The Icarus(The sweetest solo Maiden has to offer.)
Then I'll probably go.
Whoa, looking at the list now, that's enough songs to be considered somewhat of a fan.

You called a song "bad ass".
That's credit.
Oh, and by the way, I just found out that I have to tickets the show in New York at Madison Square Garden on Sunday! I'm so ****ing psyched. I knew only a few Maiden songs going into the show back in March. But now, I know every song they have written.
Oh my god, I can't wait!

That is Steve Harris' favorite song. Count on seeing that one again. Pity we won't see Aces High and Moonchild anymore. Hope they filmed this tour for a DVD

Yes, they are recording both a DVD and CD (double disc) for this tour. @Loucifel, "Aces High" is the opener of the show, preceded by "Churchill's Speech".
