One of my favorite movies of all time.

Quentin Tarantino is one of my favorite directors, along with Robert Rodriguez.

Tarantino didn't direct hostile it was just "presented" by him. I love his movies, Pulp Fiction is probably my favorite one. Reservoir Dogs and Kill Bill are amazing too. I heard Grind House was amazing too, I just haven't had a chance to see it yet.

Reservoir Dogs was awesome, too. And Sin City; even though he had nothing to do with it (Paid $1 to direct the infamous Pez dispenser scene).

Yes, Death Proof (Grindhouse) was amazing... too bad they split the two movies (the other being Planet Terror, which just came out today) for DVD.. Which is why I'm not paying for either one until they combine them to the way they're meant to be watched.

mmm, idk, Kill Bill 1 and 2 were pretty damn good, but yes, Pulp Fiction is by far the best he's ever created

Tarantino wrote the original screenplay for True Romance ...later touched up by director Tony Scott...

Check this movie out it's great and was overlooked when it came out! Plus you get to oggle Patricia Arquette while she was still hot in the mid 90's....:p

Haha. Have u seen Human Nature? Cool movie written by Charles Kaufman.

And True Romance is awesome. From Dusk Till Dawn was good to. Completely different, but still good.

Its true, I feel like I might be the only person to have it on DVD. I actually like it, just not as much as Tarantino's other films.

I haven't seen Human Nature I'll have to check that one out. I saw From Dusk Til Dawn only once when it first was released and my expectations for that were sky high at the time so my impression was underwhelming but i really should watch that again...

I found Pulp Fiction mediocre.

I enjoyed it, and it's got some great dialogue, but I guess I just don't value it as high as most people.

Maybe this is because of my Japanese background, but...

I did not care for Kill Bill. It was totally unbelievable. First I am expected to believe someone like Uma Thurman speaks Japanese and Chinese and is an expert swordsman (Kendo, I assume) and that she can easily pick up a Chinese sword style after that.

Then we see the fight where she takes on a million Yakuza. Ok, so the fight scene is ok, but pretty ridiculous. She cut a guy in half vertically. Uhh... no.

Then she stops and speaks to all the Japanese guys in Japanese. Oh my god, her Japanese was worse than Tom Cruise in The Last Samurai.

Lucy Liu heading the Yakuza? BS. I know they make a point about it in the movie... but it just doesn't work. She would've been raped and killed the first time she caused a problem. That was absolutely pathetic. Now let's see a Japanese guy head up the Italian Mafia... it'd be the same thing.

I still watched it, and I watched Kill Bill 2. I wasn't impressed, but it wasn't as bad as Kill Bill.

if movies were too realistic then they wouldn't be as entertaining, we watch movie to see things that we wouldn't see otherwise in reali-life, it's suppossed to be ridiculous, but it's a good ridiculous, i loved the yakuza fight scene, it was great, it was unreal and that's what makes it so great to watch, it's just for entertainment, it's not meant to be realistically accurate, if it was there would be no point in watching it, :)

I'd have to disagree, Death Proof is probably his worst movie. (And I hated Kill Bill vol. 2, such a let down.) It gets tiresome quick. And a lot of the conversations go nowhere. If you're going to get any of the Grindhouse movies, get Planet Terror, at least that one is good.

As for Pulp Fiction, I love that movie. All throughout High Shcool me and my friends would talk about it. I especially laugh whenever the gimp scene goes on, it's just plain funny. What I don't like is when people say it's the greatest movie ever. (Usually just imdb users.) It's far from that, but a good watch every once in a while.

i wouldn't say it was a bad movie, it may not have beem as great as his other but it was still good, and as for Kill Bill 2, it wasn't as good as the first, but it did have cool fight scenes and the conversations gave more insight into the character's back stories.

The fight scenes were a downgrade from the first movie and the final match with Bill was a COMPLETE letdown.

yea, it should have been a better kill, but i guess it's just how Quentin works, try to finish the movie with style, but it could have been a better fight, like them fighting through the house destroying everything in their path and then bill gets killed with a kitchen knife or something, lol

I would have been happy with that 5 finger palm of death kill, had it actually been a real fight taking place. But she pretty much just went up to him and did it real quick. It wasn't stylish, it was as if QT said, "Oh crap! This movie is due in a month! Hey Uma! Just touch his chest 5 times and get it over with, we need to finish this thing!"

Planet Terror was better, though.

well i think we can all agree, that all together Quentin Tarantino movies are good, not horrible but also not the greatest ever, that way we'll all be happy, and let's not forget why this thread was started, to reminisce about Pulp Fiction and it's greatness :)

I can agree that he is good. He's not as good as people say that he is. Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill Vol. 1 are his crowning achievements. Besides that, it's pretty "meh"

no i say he's great one of the best ever(ok, my generation) his ratio for good vs bad movies is much better than most directors---who has a better batting ave than tarantino? y'all are spoiled and underestimating how much fun he's brought to cinema..IN MY opinion...they aren't my favorite movies of all time necessarily but always look foward to anything new from him(screenplay or direction not movies "blessed by him")or such nonsense....
anyway to each thier own but give me a funny, vulgur, violent movie directed w/ style and i'll give it a watch and i dont watch very many movies...maybe 10-20/year

Woot Reservoir Dogs.
