Ok, im not try to start ANY fight at all, but is it just me or do the dudes playing the instruments in GH3 look awful. Not even compared to rock band, but just on its own. Ill probly be getting the game, but the singer just stands still and looks ridiculous, and it seems very bland. Rock band has much smoother movement, and seems way more realistic. what do you guys think?

I agree with you completely, Activision really ****ed the characters up and the fact that Pandora won't be in the next GH pisses me off.

I will give them credit for making some realistic textures. Their models look pretty damn good for a "cartoon-ish" styled look. Animations and lighting though...

Agreed, it's actually creepy, in a good way, how well the singer in Rock Band looks. You can see them actually enunciate (spelling?) every word. The movement and everything is practically dead on. It's much better.

But yea, Activision or Neversoft, whatever, did do a good job texturing the characters and stuff, but they still don't look like real people. Let me know how Axel Steel can really flip a guitar in the air, with no hands while still hitting notes without touching the strings.

Rock Band's character programming is very fluid and smooth. The singer's mouth produces the words very well. I was shocked to see that, because yeah, the lead sinder dude from Guitar Hero was just kinda...dry and non fluid in movement. RB is doing it right.

I agree with you and Xzyliac both completely... The singer in GH3 looks like somebody shoved a damn rake in his chin... Also the main person that I played with in GH2, oddly enough, is Pandora. When I saw that she wasn't going to be in GH3...

That's why GH series will start to go into the "Arcade" type feeling and when I say that I mean games like (Examples: Racing - Midnight Club Skateboarding - Tony Hawk ETC) Yes I know R* created MC series, just giving examples of "Arcade" style games. RB will be more of the classic GH games but with more "Realism" and no I don't mean because you can master 10 frets you're able to break out into the solo of Jordan on a real guitar. I just mean it'll feel more natural like you're really playing guitar rather than "HOLY **** I'LL PWN YOU WITH POWER UPS!".

haha, I like that.

GH3 really is for the casuals and people that actually suck at the game. You'll see noobs who will go into battle mode, play on medium, and then just master pressing Select when they need to. That takes skill......

Also considering that the open margin for error they made with the timing of notes. They keep saying how GHIII is more difficult, but it really won't be. The note charts may have more notes, but it will be easier to hit them cuz they give you a good sec to hit each note. Rock Band doesn't have the open margin, therefore you really need to get the timing down.

With that need to get timing down the Hard and Expert modes in RB are easier than that of Guitar Hero for the most part.

Thats exactly right. RB is going with the more authentic and realistic experience. Where GH is looking more for the fantasy/kidsy look. The GH series has always been cartoonish and non realistic. I don't see why we should start *****ing now.

The GH3 character designs remind me of comic books in the nineties.

This is not a good thing.
