Here are some songs that keep you saying WTF....

dead embryonic cells- sepultura
this calling- all that remains
suffer the children- napalm death
the end complete- obituary
hourglass- lamb of god
moment of clarity- death
heartwork- carcass
immortal rights- morbid angel
rapture- morbid angel
twisted nail of fate- cradle of filth
dirge inferno- cradle of filth
redemption- shadows fall
burning the lives- shadows fall
the faded line- lamb of god
Whispers- all that remains

here are some songs that would keep the average joe wondering WTF. Each song has an extreme amount of difficulty that on a game like this would keep in the practice mode for weeks. I think that the main idea of these is to keep you aware of the odd tempos and rhythm( drums) and the linear to the complex basslines from the top bassist from that type of music. Post any e-mails that have anything that you want on this rock band....PCCCCCCCE

Pretty good list...wouldn't call most of it death metal though, but that's just nitpicking, genre doesn't really matter. Like I said, good list, I'd play it.

Not death metal. Most of it is metalcore, one is symphoblack and one is thrash metal.

If those were to be put on Rock Band, how would they get the vocals though? I haven't seen a screamo/metal song on any of the singing games today. In screamo, I don't really know if you actually use notes. So I don't see how that would work. Plus I would much rather see some other Lamb Of God Songs on there, and maybe some God Forbid.

You can get death metal songs on there, the notes (by band) are easy to hit depending on how you sing it. I can do death grunts fine.

So can I, but how would you recognize that you hit the right sound. Because each death band has their own defining scream.

Death metal =/= scream. I've never ever heard a death metal band scream... That's metalcores thing.

I would love to see some DEATH songs. Chuck Schuldiner was great. Also maybe some Vader songs would be great to see. Other death metal would be good as well. Though I don't know if they would actually put any death metal on the games... I can dream though.

Well if you don't call it scream then what would you call. Because Cradle of Filth is death metal, and on the song Nymphetamine he screams, or whatever you would call it. No matter what you call it, each band has a different guttural sound. No notes are technically used.

Cradle of Filth aren't death metal, nor are they black metal, they're just extreme metal, yes they have influences of death and black metal, but neither of those dominates their musical style.

And harsh vocals do use notes, just like with singing, just because the sound is different doesn't mean the notes aren't the same, if that were the case, then they couldn't use any type of vocals because no two singers have the same voice. Also, as proof, go play Singstar and use harsh vocals in place of clean ones for the songs, it's very possible to transform a song that is meant to be sung in a clean voice into one that is sung using harsh vocals, and vice versa. It's very simple and can be done very easily.

So what you are saying is that if I went and got singstar, and used "screamo" for the vocals it would still read it?

Yup, I mean, I'm sure you'd have to draw the line somewhere, but I'm a vocalist for a metal band, and one of the ways to help improve on harsh vocals is to take songs that you would normaly sing and transform them by using harsh vocals of some kind. I can't guarentee every vocal style would transfer perfectly this way, as pretty much anyone that doesn't have real control over their voice(in which case they'd prolly fail at singing too), wouldn't be able to distinguish what notes are. For a good example of how you can change the vocal style of a song without changing the notes, go listen to Cannibal Corpse's cover cd's, the notes he growls are the same as they were originally sung, just dropped in pitch.

Death metal =/= scream. I've never ever heard a death metal band scream... That's metalcores thing.

If you want to be extremely picky you can call it growling. I completely disagree though, there are a good amount of Death Metal bands that scream. Also, no it's not a Metalcore thing... It's just that vocals in Metalcore are primarily screaming... and that happens to be the primary source of vocals in most of the "extreme" Metal genre's.

If I had to chose one Metal band to be in Rock Band, it would be Soilwork. They have some great music, but haven't yet been featured the guitar hero series or any popular music game as far as I know. Some bands I would like to see though

A Perfect Circle (Not necessarily metal, but still good)
All Shall Perish
All That Remains
As I Lay Dying
Black Label Society
Buckethead (Just had to put it out there :P)
Children of Bodom
Chimaira
Haste The Day (Preferably something form the When Everything Falls album)
Job For A Cowboy
Killswitch Engage
Lamb of God
Mindless Self Indulgence (Not really Metal, but hell, that'd be some damn good fun for vocals)
Mudvayne
Nine Inch Nails
Norma Jean
Sepultura
Shadows Fall
Soilwork
Tool

Strapping Young Lad - Wrong Side

Love? is more well known, and would probably make it if anything, but any SYL would be awesome.

I would hate to play any 15 minute song. Heck my hands were tired after Free Bird on GH2

I'd love an obnoxiously long song, that's why I'm hoping for Art of Life by X Japan, it's an amazing song and I mean hey, it's 30 minutes, but you have that nice little 8 minute piano solo in there to go get snacks and stuff.

theyre not really death metal, but some songs that would have me orgasming are: -

trivium - like light to flies
in flames - come clarity
a bit of dragonforce...
coheed and cambria - the suffering
coheed and cambria - welcome home
coheed and cambria - in keeping secrets of a silent earth 3

easily A Diamond For Disease by Arsis.

seriously go listen to the song, it's a 13 minute metal opus that never lets up, one of the best songs in the past few years, especially if you like metal you need to check it out.

I dont really want to sing any death metal, but my friend is a fan, so he can sing, me and my other classic rock loving buds can play the instruments. :)

I think it would be hilarious having a scream/growl song as part of the non-bonus set list to get some people to do it that wouldnt normally =)

Shadows Fall is not death metal. In Flames is borderline death metal.

Anyone here like real death metal? Cannibal Corpse? Death? DAATH? Morbid Angel? Anyone?

Death rules! I can't get enough of it! R.I.P. Chuck Schuldiner.
I've wanted to listen to some Morbid Angel but keep forgetting to. Has anyone heard of Vader? If not then www.vader.pl The drumming is amazing-at least on some of the albums before their drummer "Doc" left the band and then died. RIP Doc I'm not so sure of the newest album of theirs though...
