Epic fail! I'll give ya the others you mentioned and I'll even let Crue slide, I like 'em but they can be pretty awful, especially live.

Well I had a different idea for what to do next (check the after the BotB thread). I thought we should do albums or maybe songs (maybe both one after the other).

I think it's better to do which is better things rather than which is worse things -- just seems like we get better response to those kind of threads than the who's the worst threads.

Just seems like we have better conflicts when it's about who's better than when it's about who's worse.... Just my feeling when you look at the two different kinds of threads here

Honestly, I don't think this will end well, even though I have a huge list of bands I'd like to nominate, it'd be better not to.

Here's my suggestion from the next battle thread:


Why not a battle of the albums.

Could limit it to one album per band and then have a run up for some bands: Beatles, Zep, Who, ....

There may be some bands who did not make the BotB who should be in the battle of the albums. Say Kinks with Arthur or the Decline and Fall of the British Empire. Or the Band, Music from Big Pink. Or Derek and the Dominoes. Or Allmans -- Eat A Peach or Fillmore. Or Dead -- Workingman's Dead or American Beauty. I personally think Truth from the Jeff Beck Band belongs but I don't know how many people know it.

Elvis and Chuck Berry are out.

Some are obvious I guess -- DSOTM (outside shot for the Wall) for Floyd, Ten for PJ, Nevermind for Nirvana, Pet Sounds for Beach Boys.

Not sure STP makes the list this time.

Not qualified for Rush or Maiden. I'm sure a lot of Metallica fans would rather go a different direction, but it'd hard to beat the Black album for impact for a Metal band.

Then we could have a battle of the songs -- or we could do songs first. That way Chuck and Elvis could get in.

How can you say ANY of these bands are "the worst"... Have you guys never heard of LOCAL BANDS or UNSIGNED BANDS? Honestly, there are such things as bad opinions on these forums.

Of course the sheeple will nominate Fall Out Boy, Dragonforce and Slipknot all because if you even seem to like a hint of their music, you're on everyone's "OMG HE AKTUALLY LIEKS THEM?!?!" list and is afraid of liking something that "everyone" hates.. Honestly, keep negative opinions to yourself.

I strongly disagree with the inclusion of all of the bands in bold, but for the record, I'm in unison with JukeBoxHero. The original Battle of the Bands had enough flaming going on; we can only expect this Bad-tle to be even worse, especially when Fall Out Boy, AFI, MCR, Green Day, and Korn are involved. Those five bands are (rather unfairly IMO) universally reviled on this forum.
