Defiantbeing's Xbox - 10/16/2007
I was about to feel sorry for myself, until Defiantbeing showed up and made my day with a little gaming! Our gamerscore stands at 6,786 and counting! That is an improvement of 90 points over last time! He opened up Puzzle Quest adding 1 achievement, TMNT 1989 Arcade, Rock Band gaining an amazing 6 achievements, and I thought Defiantbeing injured himself in the process... but I was wrong... he lives to fight another day!

Nothing too surprising, but cool to see it all laid out there, wow 49 achievements for 1000 points, its going to be fun trying to get them all.
There are a few that stick out in my mind:
* Flawless Groove - Score 100% notes hit as bassist, up-strums only, on Expert - 10 Points
I like the idea that you should only be strumming up on the bass. Makes it feel more like its a real bass.
* Vinyl Artist - Finish the Endless Setlist in Band World Tour in Medium - 10 Points
* Gold Artist - Finish the Endless Setlist in Band World Tour on Hard - 20 Points
* Platinum Artist - Finish the Endless Setlist in Band World Tour on Expert - 25 Points
I wonder what the "Endless Setlist" is, it must be the last setlist you play in World Tour Mode or something like that, but I had this feeling that World Tour Mode never really ended, so maybe its just one of the harder things to complete, just from the name I would assume that it is obviously a large setlist which would probably have to be completed in one sitting.
* One Million Fans - Reach 1 million fans in Band World Tour - 10 Points
I'm excited to see just how gaining fans works, it seems to be a large part of the game, and World Tour Mode
* Hall of Fame Inductee - Finish the Hall of Fame Induction in Band World Tour - 100 Points
I guess World Tour Mode ends or is basically ended by getting inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame, thats pretty cool.
I kind of wish I hadn't spoiled this all for myself at this point. I couldn't resist though, it's my own fault. Ah well, I still have Rock Band itself to look forward to, and playing through the actual game, whether I think I know the ending or not.
* London
* Paris
* Amsterdam
* Stockholm
* Rome
* Boston
* NYC
* Chicago
* LA
* Seattle
* San Francisco
* Japan
* Sydney-
* Reykjavik
* Rio De Janeiro
* Moscow
I guess these are the 17 cities.

These all seem pretty straightforward. I don't see any really hard GH2-esque ones like the Jordan achivement, millionaire pair, etc.
I am glad to see they put an expert requirement on the 100% achievements though. And I wonder what the endless setlist is.

You really think its playing the whole setlist? DAMN! That would be insane, but I would TOTALLY be up for that. Might have to go online tho to find people to play expert and hard the whole way through......
Any takers!?! haha :D
Most of those achievements were expected, and I think they will be fun to get. 100% on expert will be tough tho. Bass upward too sounds interesting we will see.

As someone pointed out on scorehero, the listed achievements only add up to 990. Someone has theorized that the missing 10 points are for unlocking the Berlin venue, which is confirmed in the game,but missing in the list. It would also make for an even 50 like GH2 360.

So there must be a farewell tour of sorts?
It would suck to have to replay Band World Tour so you can do the "Big in" achievements one at a time.
A farewell tour would solve that, oner final show at each city.
Good achievements, some creative ones, all very attainable. Should be able to get 1000/1000 no problem (providing i can play the drums with any skill :p)

I don't think the game ever forces your band to stop playing. I think that they mean: have you played The Big Show in each city? You should also be able to play The Big Show in each city with the same band.

I got the impression the big show is one "final" show in each city.
My thought is that the gigs are arranged like this:
Local opening group
Local Headliner
National Opener
National Headliner
International Opener
International Headliner
So, for example, you would get the achievement after playing the Stadium in that city as a headlining artist. That's my interpretation at least.
Maybe we'll learn more with IGN Rock Band week. Or maybe we'll learn that you can make your own setlist! :(
Eman311

Well that would make sense with "last remaining gig" assuming there are no mroe shows in that city after "international headliner"
The "last gig" might refer to the 'special gigs' where you're asked to perform specific songs. See, I expect that you can just go on another world tour through that city afterwards, and another tour, and then a farewell tour, then a reunion tour. You know, like any self respecting band past their prime. ;)

Noticed that nobody else has said it and I'll probably get flamed for bringing it up, but I wonder if the Animal achievement signals the inclusion of Def Leppard? They do, after all, have a song on Hysteria called Animal (and if memory serves, the phonetic breakup of the song is pretty close to the hypenated achievement's spelling).
Don't kill the messenger: just a thought.

I like how they're not only reasonable (well I don't know how reasonable a million fans is but it's certainly better than GHIII's "Beat ____ on Expert on controller and guitar") but plentiful so you can feel like there's alot you haven't done without feeling like you'll never get it done.

You misunderstand me... I mean something similar to Guitar Hero 2's, "Start a real band already" achievement. In which you have to 5 star each of the songs. 100% one song for each career is simple and one bass song is simple.
Also note that you can five star a song on easy to get the first achievement you listed.

Buddy Rich Vs. Animal
Meh. I'm fine without a "You have no life!" achievement.
I'm thrilled there's not a DO EVERYTHING achievement. I'd like to be able to get 1000/1000 one time without it taking 10000000 hours.

I would rather have achievements that lengthen the replayability of the game.
Not achievements that I will have in a months time.

Not sure, but are you talking about the ******ed achievements for that "other game"?
"Congratulations! you completed career mode. Now do it with the ghetto-ass regular controller on Expert"
Seriously, I'm not gonna waste my friggin time doing that crap.

A Def Leppard reference in the drumming achievments list? Interesting, interesting.

Opps, I was just reading the thread and it looks like I was way late to the party with my comment.
I did consider the muppets reference, but there is an interlude in the Def Leppard song where a background voice says, "An - i - mal" just as it is printed in the achievments list.
After watching the video, the muppet character did sound his name out in a similar fashion and the reference makes quite a bit a sense that way too.
I'll side with the Muppets afterall. :)

No, seriously though, I totally agree. I still want the achievements to be a challenge of course, just not impossible since I actually have a life of which I'd like to keep. ;)

Getting all the achievements in most games.... other than the ones that have the dreaded, "number 1 in the world achievement" are possible for even the casual gamer given enough time.
Whats the point of having 1000 points in a game if everyone has 1000?

I'm thinking a Muppet reference myself.

I'm confused. I have 22 scores in Score Duel Ranked matches, but I haven't got the achievement. Is there something I'm doing wrong?
