As Capcom's media event gets started overseas, the company has already dropped one spectacularly major, but long awaited, announcement by revealing Street Fighter IV is currently in development.

As much as I love SFII, do people even care about this franchise anymore? SFIII came out when SFII was way beyond it's prime. They'd have to completely re-design the game and dynamics to make it significant again. Especially since there has been a slow evolution in the various SF-related fighting games (such as Marvel vs Capcom and the Alpha/Zero series).

I found a trailer, it doesn't show any real gameplay but its pretty cool

Did anyone ever play Street Fighter EX plus Alpha? That was a pretty awesome game. It was all 3D and whatnot, so it was a big jump from the standard SF series.

Hopefully this one will take after that one.

Be interesting to see how this one is recieved actually, given that SF3 really didn't make that much of an impact compared to how it's predecessor is STILL being continually pimped out.
