Shows how to both disassemble and re-assemble the drum set. Pretty cool watch, and reassuring to those who don't have a lot of room to keep these instruments.

Another blog... this time the band "Cartel" checks out the game and reports back whether they feel that the drums are close to the "real thing" or not.
Edit: Looks like there'll be a "Lefty Flip" for drummers too, according to the article:
With Sanders having no problems playing the Rock Band drums due to being a real-life drummer (he even used the southpaw option to accommodate his left-handedness), he'd love to have the game just for bragging rights. "I want this game in my house just so I can have my friends come over and embarrass themselves, and I be can like, 'Hey, it's not as easy as it looks, is it? That's right.'"

Cool video, nice to see what I'm up against on release day as far as assembly. It doesn't look bad at all, should be a fast and simple assembly.
The bass pedal just plugs into the drums, who knows down the road we may see double bass pedals that plug into that one outlet, if there is enough demand for it.

Looks easy enough to put together... about what I would have expected.

I'm gonna talk design here really quick.
we would basically need a jack that allowed two bass pedals to plug into the single jack (like you said) and have the drum set and game regard both bass pedals as one pedal, so to the game, when you're hitting both it just looks like your hitting a single bass pedal really fast, this would help to solve the GUI design problem, because as mentioned earlier, you could just have a lot of yellow lines.
but more importantly, it means that its something that can be easily implemented later on, it won't require any re-programming or design changes, just an add on.
the only thing i woudl worry about, is the advantage gained by having two bass pedals, and how it would affect any ranked competition.
I'm not trying to start a discussion about the need or desire for multiple bass pedals, just kinda playing off the idea here.

If only they were going to sell the instruments separately then I probably would have bought two drum sets. I would be able to dual my friends, but also I could try out double bass for fun by splitting the connection. I guess I might have to buy one off of someone who doesn't want a drum set or trade my guitar for a drum set. Too bad none of the songs will support it though, but I could have some fun on the free-form fills and going crazy at the end of songs. I'm sure double bass is coming in the future though. It's just too obvious with the plug in pedal. Please HMX!
Oh yeah. In b4 db hating trolls.

That's because us Canadians don't need a video to show us how to assemble the kit :)

I like how it comes apart quite easily, but I was a bit worried with how loosely the two feet are connected together. The two metal bars that run horizontally, connecting the two feet, seemed like they slid in place very easily. The only other thing keeping the two feet in place is the drum pad unit sliding into the top.
Maybe this is hard to imagine, but I was thinking if you are drumming pretty aggressively, that the two legs may spread apart, and the metal bars may pop out.
I'm sure its not going to be an issue, but I wish they fit a little more snugly.

The using of the legs to prevent sliding is pretty smart.
