I feel that Iron Maiden's The Trooper has severe underrepresentation, and is in need of imminent release as DLC for Rock Band. It's way too perfect of a song to waste like that.

Not me. I am not one of the people that complain about the one minute it takes to switch out a disk. I would rather have more new songs that I don't already own...though on a game I do not play as much.

I guess if I played drums or sang instead of just guitar and bass, I might have a different opinion though.

I actually started a poll in regards to this a while back -- can't find it at the moment -- but response was overwhelmingly positive in favor of making more tracks from the GH games available as DLC for Rock Band.

I have ADD, so I'd purchase precious few retreads. Generally, if I've done it once, I'm done with it. I did buy "More Than a Feeling" for Rock Band even though I have it on GH1 and some karaoke game as well. However, that's only because my fiancée is a drummer and she wanted to play drums on the song. As for me, I don't get into the drums enough to buy a song just for that. I'd have to want to sing it pretty bad (and not have it on a karaoke game). That's pretty rare for me.

I have never played Guitar Hero 3 so I do not know a lot of those songs.... But Guitar Hero 2 had the best disc track list in my opinion and I would down load 90% of them....

And I should mention that I upgraded from a PS2 to a PS3 specifically for Rock Band.... and Rock Band is the only game that I have purchased.... so I miss some of those great songs.

Of course, not enough to go and buy all the Guitar Heros for PS3.... but I would love to down load them to Rockband and add them to my DLC repretoire....

My only hope is that because Rock Band and GH have gained more notoriety, that they could get the masters for the cover songs they used in the previous games.

I'd even get a lot of the DLC from the 360 version of Guitar hero 2.

Absolutely! In fact, I'd rather see those songs offered than the current DLC.

If HMX could do some kind of "3 songs from artist XYZ" and "3 classics from the HMX vault" each week, I'd be all for that.

The songs most commonly mentioned in this thread get my vote too, and I'd be second in line for that Heart pack. "Alone" would be pretty epic, but the keyboard parts don't necessarily work well for RB. I think "Nothin' at All" or "Who Will You Run To" would be excellent. Heck, I'd even take "What About Love", but the others would be better.

i would also say the same thing from a different angle...

maybe if we got some of the actual bands for the songs instead of god awful covers that don't sound remotely close to original artists, maybe id pick up some, just to never have to play the crap versions again.... otherwise i stand by my I already have the song and wouldnt need it again

So far (although it's a fairly tiny sample size) it seems like a majority of people definitely WOULD re-buy favorite hits from previous games to go through again in RB.

I know I would buy every song I listed in the first post the day it came out and would immediately invite all my friends over to rock out. Honestly, that kind of set list would most likely convince several of my friends to fork over the cash for a console and Rock Band the next day.

I'll admit I have no idea how the licensing works for these songs but I don't think there are any "exclusivity" agreements that prevent Rock Band from getting them in their game simply because they've been in Guitar Hero games before.

It just seems like whatever the licensing costs are would be MORE than made up for by a MASSIVE number of downloads. Those songs just DON'T GET OLD (plain and simple).

Anyway, I was just curious what the overall response would be. Keep replying people.

I was actually wondering if Neversoft planned on doing this when GHWT comes out. I also wish they would release some of the GH1 and 80ies songs for XBox too.

But sure, I would re-buy my favorite GH songs if released on RB. Lots of songs would translate into great party songs. For me, especially, I'd like Joan Jett, the Van Halen Cover of the Kinks song, Kansas, Living Color, Muse, the Sex Pistols, and Cream.

I'd love to buy all the original songs from GH1,2 and 3 for RB as DLC. I enjoyed a majority of the songs on all of those games far more than the base content that came with RB. With the new strum fix installed from BA on my Strat, it is now a FAR superior controller in both feel, response and enjoyment than the GH controllers ever were. Being able to play those songs on the controller I most enjoy would be outstanding.
