.....and I think there should be a balance of music from genres rather than specific time periods..................that kind of game would not cater for those that only like 60s, 70s or modern day music.
I think its a myth that one particular decade had better music than others. All of the decades have had excellent music! In fact, nearly every year there has been at least one album that has been good in some way from one genre or another.

i'd probably kill a man to get some gang of four or joy division or any other classic post-punk music in there. also, any college rock from the 80s would be great, particularly 'radio free europe' by r.e.m. or anything by the smiths ('the queen is dead') or elvis costello ('i don't wanna go to chelsea') would make my day. i'd also like to see some more stuff from the 60s, which should never ever be forgotten if we're talking about great eras in music. you've got the jimi hendrix experience (with vocals this time?), the animals, the rolling stones, the grateful dead (seriously get a big long jam in there), the doors, the who, and god knows the beatles would be great... doesn't michael jackson own most of their catalog? i'm sure he would come to an agreement, he'll have another lawsuit to finance eventually. i've had enough hair metal and classic rock in the first two 'guitar hero' games and in the to be released 80's edition; i think it's time to get out of that mindset. i know that there's a huge market for classic rock/metal, but there's too much of it. if i never have to play another megadeth song, it'll be too soon.

Personally can't stand a lot of 90's music, especially early 90's, never been a big fan of really any of those bands, they all just kinda bore me.

i have to say i disagree with you, i lived through the 80's and i personnally didn't like the music(with the exception of alot of metal), 'specially the hair/glam bands....though i've grown to aapriciate more 80's music now (but still not much of it), 90's will always be my fav, they were new and refreshing at the time, and showed alot more talent then the 80's, guess thats why i like the early 90's stuff more then any music.........but no worries, there is no doubt in my mind that good music from every genre and decade will be in the game:)
